Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946\. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952\. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972\. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998\. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores! Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. The property sits right on the beach with restauraunts and shops within walking distance. There is a flower garden with lots of seating and shade if the beach is too hot or you've gotten too much sun. The cottage was emaculate with a very nice kitchen area and very comfortable bed. There were lots of beach amenities to utilize and a very nice laundry facility to use if needed. Mrytle was a very welcoming host and was easily available had any problems occurred (which did not). The room was clean, welcoming, and well decorated. Myrtle met us and gave us a tour during our check-in. The property is located on the beach with walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The rental was exceptionally clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The property was gorgeous; Myrtle does a great job maintaining the grounds. You are literally beachfront, and the beach was never crowded. Myrtle provided everything you’d need to enjoy your days down by the ocean, too. We were in cottage one which does not have beach view, however, the gardens and sitting areas provide a sought after view of the water. Next time would love the cottage which enjoys a beach/ water view. There was ample shade around the property too which allowed respite from the heat of the day. The cottage is cute and homey with all the comforts and necessities of home in the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath. The grounds are fantastic for sitting in the shade and sipping coffee while watching the birds and ocean. The beach and ocean is clean, not very crowded, and loaded with sealife and birds to watch! We have always loved the Indian Rocks Beach area. Booked Mrs. Hall's Sandy Shores and we could not have picked a better spot. On the beach , out door sitting areas with perfect view for sunsets in the evening and a morning cup of coffee. You are right in the heart of Indian Rocks and can walk to all the great spots IRB has to offer. The place is maintained impeccably . Hope to make it back in the future. ##### Doug D. Everything you need for a day or a week on the beach is available. The location is fantastic. The private beach can’t be beat. I think we have found our new go to beach destination. Myrtle is a wonderful host. You can see the pride she takes in the property. I wish we had spent more time getting to know her while there. We most certainly will on our next visit.
