Nice place had a very good breakfast

Posted 2-Oct-2016
The room wad expensive due to the Ryder Cup which in my opinion is everytime there is am event all hotels raise their prices to the extreme! Why? I would think you would want to do the opposite. I had a wedding to attend and that is why I chose that hotel.

Very close to Como Zoo and the State Fair.

We have been staying here for about 4 years and it's starting to go down hill! It's looking old, dirty and needs an upgrade. This last time it was dirty, my kids had no blankets or pillows and I had to call and ask three times before they finally found some. The floor was dirty, pool was old and filthy dirty floors. Breakfast was wonderful though! We are going to go someplace else for our next trip.

Dirty room, breakfast disaster

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Blood spot on bathroom wall and curtains. Hair in tub. Breakfast area was backlogged due to constant breaker overloads. Took forever to make a half raw waffle. Won't be back.

Pros: convenient to the locations of my meetings; comfortable
Location: I'm usually here on business but there are many things close by - State Fair grounds, Saints ball games, variety of eating places, shopping
I've stayed here frequently in the past, but not in the last two years. Significant updates, very comfortable and great breakfast variety. Helpful staff.

We have stayed here on more than one occasion and I will continue to stay here. It's our night to get away from the kids and we enjoy the pool, hot tub, and sauna. It's a nice staycation environment. We enjoy drinks in the lounge at night and appreciate the huge variety of breakfast items in the morning.

Just so so :/

Rooms are very dated and in need of a thorough clean. Free breakfast is still something to be desired after many years of staying here. Nothing different than what you could buy from a gas station and they food always runs out. Still no extra pillows, blankets, fold-up beds, etc. after years of requesting. This might be because we always check in late after a long drive every time. We always chose this hotel because it's where the rest of our group stays for the Car Craft (Street Machine) Car Show despite all of the inconveniences we've experienced over and over. The hotel staff has always been friendly and helped with all they were capable of. But, this year, I was very disappointed by multiple employees including the hotel General Manager. Very unprofessional. And honestly, an embarrassment to all the friends and family I invited down with my group. I have always been a loyal Best Western customer but this year was my last try. This hotel is good for someone looking for a good view back in history of the old train yard it's built around and maybe a swim in the pool. No restaurant. Poor bar atmosphere with high priced drinks and limited snacks that were microwaved. That is about it.

Nice hotel, will most likely use again.

Our reason for going was for a tournament (2 day event), which the field wasn't too far from the hotel. We walked which was good because there wasn't parking at the park. We also had our dog with us, but he stayed in the hotel for our whole trip (which was allowed). It was a very nice hotel. Breakfast was good as well. Only thing was that you couldn't control the air conditioning, but it wasn't too bad. Since we were from out of town, 12 hour drive (not including stops), we arrived about an hour early for check in but they let us check in early. We will be using this hotel again, next year, since the tournament is an annual event.

St. Paul business trip

Posted 4-Jul-2016
Pros: Nice breakfast Friendly staff
Cons: Put shampoo and soap in the bathroom.
Location: Easy access to St. Paul
Quiet and clean hotel. Surprised that bathrooms didn't have soap or shampoo...had to go to front desk to get some. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Difficult to figure out how to get into the parking ramp in the dark. Wish front desk staff would have described how to park.
