Pros: I like that it is an old railroad station. It is clean and close to the training in St. Paul I was attending.
The room was clean and comfortable. The fitness center was great. Breakfast was good and the staff was wonderful.

Nice pool, hot tub, and sauna.

Cons: Hotel took over 30 minutes to find booking confirmation, so check-in was not satisfactory.
Close to the train museum. Pool and other amenities are nice. Parking was close.

Staff made my stay w pet like staying with family!

Posted 21-Jan-2016
Pros: Staff, room, amenities (breakfast, exercise room, open lobby, bar)
Alisa, Lindsey, Sandy and Mike were there for me when my pet dog was at the U. of Minnesota Vet clinic for major surgery. The room and hotel were nice, a rustic make-over of an old railway terminal, but the staff were like family and helped me through several stressful days. They were very friendly and considerate!! I talked with Sandy while my dog, Gidgett, was in surgery, Alisa several days and evenings at front desk or in lounge/bar, Lindsey many times at front desk, and Mike behind the bar. They were friendly and supportive throughout!! I can't thank them enough!!

Unique Hotel built in a Historic Building

Posted 3-Jan-2016
Pros: It's Uniqueness makes it a lot better than stay at the same old boring Hotel with a standard small Lobby
Cons: Update the Bathrooms and Showers, add tall elongated toilets, but they are not terrible as is
Location: This Hotel is located in a quiet business park area surrounded by residential areas, it is only 4.4 miles from downtown St. Paul, close to Urgent Care
This was a great place to stay, not your normal boring hotel lobby or experience. This hotel was built out of the old Saint Paul Train Depot and Maintenance Shop. When you walk into the lobby it's like entering a small museum with an indoor court yard, pool, whirlpool, gym, sauna, small business center and bar/meeting place. The rooms are large and comfortable. This is a Historic Building, so keep this in mind, you can hear some doors closing from your room and it may be a little chilly, but the bedding is adequate and makes for a very comfortable nights sleep. The first floor rooms around the lobby have sliding glass doors an patio furniture outside in the pool area. For the money you will not find a better Hotel experience. There are some great Small Neighborhood Cafe's and sandwich shops near by. If you travel with Health concerns there is a Urgent Care facility right next door and some health clinics, but it does not interfere with the quietness of this Hotel or traffic. I recommend eating at the Neighborhood Cafe located on Selby Ave, small with great food and average prices. We will definitely stay at this Best Western again the next time we are in the Saint Paul area.

As expected

The accommodations were nice. The bed was very comfortable, the pool was clean and the complimentary breakfast in the morning provided options. We would stay here again.

Best FREE breakfast I have ever had in the U.S.

Posted 11-Nov-2015
Pros: The design is unique, Take a old train station Building and build a modular hotel inside. Train track still visible with large indoor courtyards. The
Cons: Wifi was spotty and my room was the next to the lobby? Bar food needs help or more care in preparation? Great location for a Evening Restaurant.
Location: The location is business only. I did not rent a car so getting food was difficult (remember the Nachos). No restaurant are close for lite walk.
Cons: My Discount room was a Handicap room. I had to move the BIG shower out to use the shower. Wifi was spotty and my room was the next to the lobby shared the wall? Bar food needs help or more care in preparation? Nachos $$ with shredded cheese on top trying to MELT in the Microwave does not work. Needs a evening restaurant!!!! Pros: The design is unique, Take a old train station Building and build a modular hotel inside. Train track still visible with large indoor courtyards. The FREE breakfast was Second to none in the U.S. I have been from U.S. to China and after you leave the food area you will NOT feel you just grabbed what you could at a corner store/Gas station. Staff was was very friendly like you are a regular guest.

Stylisches Hotel mit einigen Mängeln

Posted 9-Nov-2015
