All the comforts of home with a great view & beach

Posted 16-Aug-2015
Pros: Our newly renovated room was very nice as well as its close proximity to the pool.
Cons: We stayed in the building farthest away from the ocean in the resort, we would have prefered a room closer to the beach.
Location: There is a variety of different eateries outside of the resort. We especially enjoyed the Carousel gelato creamery a couple blocks down.
We rented the deluxe studio with fully equipped kitchen and was very happy. It was exactly as it was in the pictures. The room was big, newly redone, clean, a large deck area which included a table for 4 plus a lounge chair and about 6 steps down to the pool area. Most buildings had their own pool area so there was no trouble getting a seat , security was always around to make sure all was safe (no lifeguards) and the area was clean and taken care of. There is a rather steep hill from our building to get to the beach but I considered it our daily excercise. The beach staff was very kind in getting us our lounge chairs under either the umbrellas or palm trees. I can't say enough about how clean the beach was or the beautiful blue the water. Also, for the animal lovers, there are stray kittens that adventure around the campus at night that made us laugh with their antics. We all enjoyed our stay but next time will rent a room on the beach to avoid the hill ( so much for excerise!)

Good

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Pros: I love the value for money and the friendly customer service at the front desk.
Cons: I would normally say nothing, but this time, housekeeping should know which rooms have a mosquito problem and leave a repellant in the room.
Location: I was in transit.
I have stayed at Simpson Bay Resort & Spa a number of times and it is still my favorite hotel on island. Unfortunately, this room had a number of issues. There was a lot of mosquitos in the room and there were water patches on the ground, which is probably why mosquitos were there. Besides that, everything else was fine.

Conveniently located near beach and restaurants

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean environment, including swimming pools.
Cons: The map that provides direction to some rooms could include street names. Signage for direction could also be improved.
Location: Nearby is a beautiful beach and many restaurants with a wide menu verity. You can take a 5 minute walk and catch a bust to Philipsburg or Marrigot
The Simpson Bay Resort and Marina is a beautiful destination, providing a home away from home. The staff make you feel welcome and always willing to provide assistance. Stayed 2 nights with wife and 2 children and enjoyed out time from 08th - 09 August 2015. We plan to stay at Simpson Bay again.

Great location, hotel for adventure traveller

Posted 11-Aug-2015
Pros: Location, nice beach, access to groceries, WiFi, and restaurants. Rental car company on resort.
Cons: Staircases, or shortcuts to some building locations.
Location: Bars, restaurants, night life, beaches, within easy access.
Traveled to St. Martin in June (off season) for the first time. This hotel was a great choice. Seemed to be one of the nicest in the Simpson Bay area, and it was close to bars, restaurants, and other amenities. We went with another young couple. Renting a car is recommended, but there are lots of things within walking distance, if you don't mind the hills. Going off resort is a must. Don't be tempted to only frequent the restaurants and bars on campus; there's a lot better deals and more to see close by on the strip. The night life starts really late though, after 11 p.m. or so. My wife and I are accustomed to all inclusive resorts, so this was a bit of an adjustment. We saved some money by making our own lunch with groceries from the store on campus (there's also a few nearby on the main strip). We had no complaints about the newly renovated room, hotel staff, cleanliness, and other amenities. We had regular housekeeping and easy access to WiFi. Our room was a bit of a hike, but we didn't mind. Seems like it could get really crowded during the busy season, so maybe watch out for that. If you go during summer months that shouldn't be a problem. As the other reviews said, stay clear of the time share vultures, as you should at any resort. Go with an adventure mindset, travel the island, explore, and have a great time.

Room Beautiful/Beach Small, Rough and Uninviting

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: The one bedroom we were in had a full kitchen and plenty of room to move around.
Cons: Unfortunately, the beach would be the thing I would improve and that may not be possible.
Location: Mullet Bay Beach is beautiful. Go to the Sunset and watch planes take off. Loterie Farms zip lining was fun take a sail boat trip through Bluebeard.
Our One Bedroom was newly remodeled and gorgeous. Spacious for 4 adults. Loved the murphy beds and if I we wanted to spend a lot of time in out room this room would have been great. The resort is huge and expect to walk up and down hills. The resort beach was not very nice so we went to Mullet Bay Beach. There are 5 pools and the pool outside our 4th story room was very nice with good lap swimming. The staff was very nice and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed.

Nice in the center of the action

Posted 4-Aug-2015
It was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and had everything one could desire. There were many resturants in walking distance on the resort and around the resort. We came with our two boys and they loved it.

okay hotel close to dining, night life, airport

Posted 3-Aug-2015
Pros: The location can't be bet.
Cons: The hotel sits on a hill so unless you have a car. be prepared to do a lot of walking. The property is very large with everything spread out.
Location: The Piano Bar great acts nightly.
Hotel is suitable. No welcome drinks or cold hand towels when you arrive for check in. Be ware this is a time share hotel so there is a sales pitch after you check in. This was my second time staying at this property. Based solely on the location. There is a gym in main building however there is a $6 dollar a day fee if your not a member of the time share. I wasn't told this nor have I seen it cited anywhere until you enter gym. The rooms are all newly renovated with modern furniture. Fully equipped kitchen. The housekeeping is pretty spotty. I had to call 3 times out of my 7 day stay for minor things like wash cloths as they seem to run short a lot.
