Simpson Bay Resort

Posted 7-Dec-2016
Pros: lots to offer.
Cons: the staff was not all that friendly but overall not too bad.
Location: lots of water activities right from the pier of the motel..tours to Anguilla, St Barts and Saba, jet skiing, fishing excursions and SCUBA.
Little bit of everything at this motel. was nice to find full kitchen facilities in room and nearby store within the complex and yet several restaurants if that option is preferred. Several pools and decent beach as well.

Simpson Bay has a lot to be desired..

Posted 6-Dec-2016
Most hotels in Simpson Bay aren't the greatest so this is no surprise. We reported the bugs the first 5 minutes we entered the room and I don't mean 1 bug .. all over the kitchen counters, dining room and in the living room..they never even attempted to correct the problem. The staff couldn't care less about the guests and they don't try to hide it either. This hotel is a 2 to 3 star at the best.

Beware of room location

Posted 6-Dec-2016
Cons: Some rooms are very poorly located, far away from everything and with no views at all. Long uphill walks to the beach.
Overall this is a very nice resort but beware some units feel like a cheap motel facing a parking lot.

trouble changing dates

Posted 5-Dec-2016
I think I got charged twice for my room. I was able to change my date thru expedia, not the hotel. I didn't like the refundable deposit I had to leave at check in.

Great Location - Lots to do

Posted 4-Dec-2016
As mentioned in the title, the location of this hotel is fantastic, if you enjoy doing more than just relaxing by the beach. It's the epicenter of a lot of diving, snorkeling and other excursions. You can take a sunset cruise, an evening dinner cruise, and so much more. People come from a lot of other resorts just to do these, while we had access to all of that right at our doorstep. Our room was decently well appointed, although the the hotel itself is a bit old. But the kitchen was clean, there was plenty of hot water, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The service was nice, but some things perplexed me. There didn't seem to be a bellhop, so we had to get our suitcases to the room ourselves. Similarly, when we decided to spend the day on the French side of the island and asked the front desk to call a taxi, they directed us to a security guard outside, who radioed dispatch, learned that there were no taxis waiting in the wings and told us to just walk through town and find one. Other than that, the staff were quite friendly. Friendly bartenders at the numerous bars, great drinks, friendly concierge. The beaches at the resort are a bit small - those images of a mile log beach stretching into the distance were not present at the resort itself. The beaches on property were quite nice, just narrow - coves, surrounded by rocks. Although, a short walk towards the airport, and we found a beach to fit that description quite easily.

My second time here and it was just as great as the first time. Great room, everything you need is already there. Will always come back to SBRM.

Nice Resort on the Beach

Posted 20-Nov-2016
Pros: It has a lot to offer
Cons: Breakfast
Location: It is close to downtown and has many restaurants, shops and grocery stores
One thing I did not like is that there is no breakfast which I prefer to have at least, I like always everything included but this Resort did not have it but overall it is a nice Resort on the Beach.
