Only a 2 block walk from Forest Park & its Metrolink train stop, your group will have access to everything the city has to offer. This 100 year-old historic home is only blocks from Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World's Fair and St. Louis Zoo. UPDATE: On May 16, 2025 the Forest Park area was hit with a mile-wide tornado. Our building had minimal damage and maintains 100% occupancy. Some of the buildings along our street suffered roof damage, broken windows and uprooted trees. The city has cleaned up and the area is getting back to normalcy. "Suites in the Lou" offers 6 private short term rental suites in one building - great for a large group which may want to all stay in one place. Walkable to Forest Park, the Metrolink train stop, the Delmar Loop, restaurants, and shopping. To see our other suites, go to my PROFILE page for a listing of all our accommodations in the same building. This 3rd floor 2-bedroom/1 bath suite sleeps 6 guests. Need to get around town? Metrolink, buses and quick access to Forest Park Parkway and I-170 makes it easy. A Metrolink station is conveniently located in DeBaliviere Place. You can hop on the Skinker/DeBaliviere stop and head all the way to the Lambert International Airport or right downtown. We're proud that our neighborhood boasts excellent public transit. I spend a few beautiful days walking through Forest Park even in January and part of February. The owners were very accommodating and arranged for me to extend my stay for a day. Nicely furnished, comfortable beds and a fullly equipped kitchen all added to making it a wonderful place for a short term stay. A bonus was the neighborhood. Located on a residential street with leafy trees dressed in fall colors, people walking dogs and no traffic it was a quiet, peaceful place. The neighborhood was quiet & close to the metro for ease of visiting St Louis sites. Would definitely stay here again & recommend to anyone staying in St Louis. ##### Teri B. We were arriving early, the owners let us check in early. We noticed the metro was around the block if we needed to use it, we drove into town but found the option to be very convenient. Our car felt safe as it was inside a gated parking lot. Our suite was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We spent most of our time exploring town instead of using their amenities, however we did use the free WIFI. It's located in a wonderful, centrally located neighborhood - quiet, minimal traffic, no problems with parking. The unit seems to be well insulated from the other ones in the building. You know exactly what you're going to get from the pictures because they are spot on accurate - what you don't/can't see in those pics is that the bed and bedding are wonderfully comfortable. Communication was always swift, professional, and personal and the price couldn't be beat. This will be the first place I check for a rental the next time I head to St. Louis. ##### Joshua M. Being in an older building, the unit has been renovated but still has a lot of the original woodwork and floors. There was plenty of room for my wife and I to rest and relax after spending time at Forest Park, the Arch. Aquarium, City Museum, and the St. Louis Zoo! The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed. Access and entry were a breeze and there was plenty of parking in the gated lot. Libby kept in touch with us throughout the stay. There had been some bad weather and she let us know that it could impact our plans. I really appreciated that extra touch. We may come back again to catch some of the attractions that were impacted by the weather and would love to stay with Suites in the Lou Again! ##### Charles W. Great size for 4 of us. Nicely decorated with all the needed amenities! Plenty of soft towels and great water pressure! Beds were perfect with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Mar 18, 2022 #### Comfortable & Reminiscent . . . of the first apartment in which I lived in Chicago. 3rd floor, 1 bedroom. You get a feel for what old neighborhood living was like & still is. Only exception is the gated parking! That beats hunting for a spot on the street for sure! My suite was bright, clean, and nicely decorated with a velour sofa, glass-topped dining table, attractive area rugs, TV over the fireplace, and a comfortable king-sized bed. (A second full bed in the sunny front room can sleep more people or be used for enjoying a late afternoon nap as the sun sets.) Even the dishes in the adequately equipped small galley kitchen were cute. The shower & water pressure was great. If only the exposed hardwood floors could tell the stories of a century . . . .
