YOUR GUEST SUITE: La Mer We are Rendezvous by the Sea - A perfect couple's only romantic getaway. We have two separate guest rooms with their own private entrances and patio areas. They are in a separate building away from the main villa where the owners and hosts live. To distinguish the two separate guests’ rooms from each other we have named them La Mer and Le Jardin. La Mer is the top guest room, and Le Jardin is the bottom guest room. They can be rented together or separately. It is an ideal romantic getaway for couples because of the quiet, serenity and beauty of this place. Each guest room has their own private entrance and patio area, en-suite bathroom, whisper-quiet split air conditioner, recently upgraded and decorated with new bedroom furniture, linens, and towels. Each patio has built in bench seating, dining bistro table, and chairs for two. Please note that the water at Rendezvous by the Sea is collected from rainwater that is treated with a dual filtration system then ultra violet light for maximum purification. Unlike most rentals, our water is perfectly safe to drink. BEDROOM: The guest rooms face out over the bay with an unrestricted panoramic views of the ocean and St. John. The view is amazing! Both have a whisper-quiet split air conditioner, or, for those who prefer a more natural experience, the room has 2 sliding glass doors with screens, and a ceiling fan. It is furnished with a new king size bed with a deluxe pillow top mattress and super soft 680 thread count Pima cotton sheets and 4 deluxe soft king size hypoallergenic down pillows. We are oceanfront so it is easy to fall asleep listening to the gentle sounds of the waves below and for those who like to sleep late, your guest room is equipped with light reducing curtains. The guest room is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker with a selection of coffees and teas, wine glasses and opener, Brita water pitcher with filter and water glasses, plates and bowls, forks, knives and spoons for 2, linen napkins, cutting board with sharp knife, kitchen towel, and paper towels/sponge/dish liquid. We also provide a yoga mat should you like to practice during your stay. BATHROOM: The spacious bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Complimentary Shikai Natural shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided as are 4 sets of ultra-soft bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. MEDIA: There is a wall-mounted 34” flat screen HD TV with a Roku player. Roku player will let you stream from your own Netflix, Amazon and Hulu account. High-speed wifi provided at no additional charge. DECK: Your private porch is cool and breezy and furnished with large, luxuriously cushioned bench seating for you to relax and enjoy the sounds and view of the ocean and the waves. For your outdoor dining pleasure, a bar height bistro table and chairs for 2. POOL: We have a deep octagon pool that is perfect for dipping and relaxing. It is a shared pool for all our guests. We have reclining lounge chairs with ottomans by the pool for your sunbathing pleasure. We also have a sitting area below the pool to relax, drink a cocktail and watch the ocean and its breathtaking surroundings. BEACH/OUTDOOR GEAR: For trips to St. John’s spectacular beaches, we provide beach chairs, cooler, two plush oversize beach towels, and snorkel gear. Rendezvous by the Sea has its own rocky beach. We have a path from the villa to the beach below. The path is steep, so good walking sandals (not flip flops) are required. Enjoy Monte Bay where great snorkeling can be had when the waters are calm. Our rocky/coral beach is great for beachcombing. Please do not remove any shells or coral from our shore, but definitely take lots of pictures. Also on the beach you will find an orange tandem kayak belonging to Rendezvous by the Sea. Please let us know when you want to borrow it and we will provide you with paddles and life vests. Depending on the wind and current, we recommend only kayaking in our bay and on a calm day it is a 30 minute kayak over to Klein Bay Beach. HOUSE RULES & NOTES FOR RENDEZVOUS BY THE SEA \- We are a no smoking villa. . \- Check–In is 3:00 pm and Check-Out is 10:00 am. \- Please help us conserve water! Everyone on St. John gets their water from rainfall collected from the roof in large tanks under the house so we ask that you be conservative with your water usage. Our water, unlike most other rentals, is treated by dual filtration and ultra violet light to kill any bacteria and is perfectly safe to drink. \- Please conserve electricity! Electricity in the Virgin Islands is several times what it costs in the States. Please be mindful of electricity use: turn off all lights, fans, fountains and A/C when not in the studio. Your conservation allows us to offer you such reasonable rates. \- In the event of a power outage, please do not use any water (flushing the toilet, taking a shower) until the power comes back on. We do have a generator at the villa and we will turn it on if needed. \- Please do not leave any food out in the open either on the deck or in the guest room. Place all open, non-refrigerated items in the ziplock bags provided and any refrigerated items in your fridge. \- We provide you with a covered trash bin. Please tie up your trash bags provided and discard them daily. \- Please hose off all beach and sandy gear. Sand is a very precious natural resource and should be left on the beach. There is a hose provided for your use to wash your beach chairs, feet and any sandy gear. \- We provide 2 large plush beach towels. Do not take the bath towels to the beach. \- We urge you to make use of the St. John guide books provided, but please do not take them out onto the beach or on the water with you. \- ABSOLUTELY nothing in toilet but toilet paper. No feminine hygiene products or wet wipes or any other paper items or foreign objects. There are no municipal sewage systems here on St. John to flush into. Instead every home has a self contained sewage treatment system. These systems are eco friendly and very sensitive and do not tolerate anything but toilet paper or they will malfunction and back up. Trust us, not something you ever want to experience. \- ABSOLUTELY nothing down the bathroom sink as well. Same system as above. \-While you will enjoy total privacy on your own deck your hosts also live on the premises so we ask that you be considerate and keep the noise levels down. The calming of the waves, the beautiful clear blue water, the weather and location location location. Just 10 mins from Cruz bay this was the perfect spot to be out of the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy dinner and shopping. The pool is beautiful but quite chilly, didn’t use it much, we explored in the day and late afternoon the sun was gone from pool area. The room is a average hotel size and a large bathroom. We used the microphone to make a breakfast, we wished we has a toaster but we made it work. You must have a car, the roads are quite steep but the house is only 10 minutes to town.. we used St John Jeep and they let you park in their lot after 5pm. We had total privacy in our unit, enjoying spectacular sunrises, views of the bay, and ocean breezes and the sound of the waves. The private rocky beach had comfortable chairs and a kayak which we used to cross the bay. Resort-level pool felt so private and luxurious overlooking the Caribbean. We will be back. It was like something out of a dream or something you only see in movies. The hosts were absolutely wonderful, and helped us with any questions about the island. The stay was wonderful and beautiful and clean. The pool overlooking the bay was wonderful to take a swim in after a day of adventure on the island. Jan 11, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Romantic getaway We stayed at Rendezvous by the Sea for a week in early January to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was absolutely perfect for our needs: private and quiet, with gorgeous views of Monte Bay, yet still convenient, just minutes from Cruz Bay dining options and the Northshore beaches. Our guest suite was stocked with all the essentials, including beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, and a nice cooler. You'll need to rent a car to stay here and get around the island. Be sure to explore some of the less busy beaches, like the one at Saltpond Bay, where we were lucky enough to swim with some sea turtles. Our hosts, Caron and Dave, were gracious and very quick to respond to our questions. We will happily stay at Rendezvous by the Sea again should we get the chance! ##### Ellie M. Private, peaceful , gorgeous! There are kayaks to use and a swimming pool . A grill if you want to hang out and enjoy all that this little gem has to offer, which we did. They have a cooler, beach chairs ,beach towels and snorkel equipment you can take to the beaches, definitely a plus ! And the owners Caron and Dave are just super ! Love it here !! ##### renee p. My well appointed and guest suite was very clean and incredible views and sounds, such as the ocean waves crashing below. The hosts are very attentive and helpful. This was absolutely the best spot on the whole island and we are so happy we chose to stay here. We even got stuck here due to a tropical storm and Carin and Dave extended our stay. They were super welcoming and had everything we needed. They had snorkel gear, chairs, towels & a perfect cooler! The pool was wonderful and we even enjoyed the small hike to the beach everyday. We got to enjoy their kayaks a couple times to go to the other parts of the bay. (We saw 2 huge sea turtles while kayaking) We just can’t say enough good things about this place. Wonderfully architectured property felt like a five star resort. The begonia lined drive and the plants on the property topped off the paradise feel. We snorkeled along the reef just below the villa with the gear provided by our host. It was beautiful coral with easy access. Great starter snorkeling! ##### Craig A. She takes immaculate care of everything. She takes pride in having others enjoy her place. The view overlooking the pool is even more impressive than the pictures show. Caron and Dave have done a wonderful job with landscaping and creating the perfect spot on St.John. It’s close enough to Cruz Bay to enjoy the restaurants and shopping, but in a quiet lovely neighborhood with lots of privacy. We stayed in the top unit and it had everything we needed. The views are spectacular! Having access to the beach and use of the kayaks was a real bonus. We visited several beaches during our visit and enjoyed a couple of days just hanging out at the property and kayaking and snorkeling in Rendezvous Bay. ##### Chris W. The views from the condo, pool, and water edge were fantastic. We came to St. John for relaxation, good food, and beaches. This property is a 7-10 min drive from Cruz bay and about 5 min more to Trunk bay. It was far enough away to feel a bit private, but close enough to get to restaurants and excursions easily. The hosts were wonderful, left a check in treat, gave great information, and had the condo set up well. The snorkeling across the bay from the house was wonderful. We saw turtles, sting rays, star fish, fish, and an octopus in Rendezvous bay. We just kayaked across the bay and snorkeled around. You could stay at the condo for the day comfortably, or use it’s location to visit any place on the island. The host have a variety of supplies that make your stay easier too, snorkel gear if you don’t granger your own, beach chairs, and a small cooler. We would definitely stay here again. We had the upstairs unit which has a beautiful view of the bay. This is a studio unit with a king bed, large bathroom and patio. There’s a keurig coffee maker(bring extra if you drink a lot of coffee). There is a small fridge and a microwave. In the bathroom there are plates, silverware,bowls and a cutting board. We ate breakfast in and packed lunch daily. We used the gas grill twice and made steak,potatoes and veggies. There’s a lovely octagonal pool looking out at the harbor. In the afternoon there’s shade by the pool and on the patios. There’s a path down to a lovely rocky beach and there are chairs to sit in by the water. There are 2 person kayaks which we used to paddle across to Ditcleif beach. The snorkeling from their beach is great when there are calm winds and the snorkeling across the bay was also lovely. The owners, Caron and Dave, are lovely people and very accommodating. They have a sweet cat who roams around but doesn’t go in the rooms. There’s a great parking spot which is very easy to access. You can walk along the road viewing the harbor. We definitely recommend this wonderful place for couples. The view is magical ! ##### DIANE r.
