Cloud Nine is a private villa located on Gifft Hill, high above the tranquil blue waters of Great Cruz Bay on the Island of St John, USVI. The villa offers incredible unobstructed water views across acres of conservation land with spectacular sunsets, gentle trade winds, and the twinkling lights of distant islands. Cloud Nine affords the comforts of traditional Caribbean architecture with casual elegance and creates a private and restful environment. The three bedroom, three bath villa frames an extra large 1,200 square-foot deck with private pool, spa, and ample space to lounge throughout the day in both sun and shade. The covered dining area is a favorite spot for meals while taking in the breathtaking views of the Caribbean sea below. Cloud Nine is conveniently located a short 7 minute drive on paved roads into Cruz Bay where you will find a myriad of restaurants, bars and shopping options. And of course the world famous North Shore beaches located within the National Park are an easy 15 minutes from the villa. Cloud Nine’s great room is a traditional Caribbean structure with soaring 20 foot vaulted ceiling with exposed rafters and beams. There are plenty of cozy seating options, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, air conditioning, a reading nook, and dining table with a sliding glass door to the adjacent pool area. The Cloud Nine kitchen is equipped with a gas stove/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and filtered tap water- no need for single-use plastic water bottles! You’ll find the kitchen well stocked with basic pantry needs including: coffee filters, paper towels, sugar/Splenda, an assortment of spices, and complete cooking and dining utensils. A gas grill is located just outside the kitchen by the front door. Cloud Nine is perfectly set up for outdoor living and dining. The massive 1,200 square foot deck accommodates chaise loungers, covered alfresco dining, and plenty of open space for lounging in the sun or shade. True to the St John lifestyle, you’ll find yourself spending most of your time outside. And just wait for those magical sunsets! Cloud Nine is conveniently set up with separate pods for both of the ensuite bedrooms, accessible via a covered walkway to the main living/dining area. Bedroom #1 features a king bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and double doors that open onto the pool courtyard and view. Ensuite is a large double vanity bathroom and garden shower that opens onto the pool deck. The laundry room with full-size washer/dryer is located behind the primary bedroom in an attached utility room. Bedroom #2 features a king bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, and double doors that open onto the pool courtyard and view. The single vanity ensuite bathroom has a closet and private garden shower. Bedroom #3 features a semi-private loft at the top of the stairs in the main great room. It has a queen bed and two additional twin beds. A private bathroom and shower are at the base of the stairs. The loft is air conditioned by way of the main house unit. New for 2025: the home is now equipped with a new Tesla Powerwall battery system for instant back-up power in case of a power-outage. With over 60% of St John protected as a Nation Park, the island boasts some of the best beaches in the world. The information provided in advance was very helpful as well although this was our 4th visit to St. John. The location is excellent as well the views. Great sunsets every evening. This home worked out great for us and our 3 children in terms of the sleeping arrangements. This is an older home, so keep that in mind in terms of expectations. Everything worked as it should - a few recommendations we'd make are a new microwave as the current one is quite rusted inside. The water temp was difficult to adjust in the master bath shower. The hot tub has limited controls, takes a long time to warm up, and the cover is a challenge to remove and put back. There is a bright light on the AC units, so if you need total darkness to sleep in, you might want to bring a sleep mask. We found the access to the home very easy with multiple parking options (you are not fighting any kind of steep driveway). Overall we had a fantastic trip and would highly recommend this home! ##### Mark P. We were blown away by the spectacular views when we walked in. The pictures do not do it justice! The layout was great for our family. The house was clean and kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. We used Landlubber Logistics to have groceries delivered in advance which was convenient after a long day of traveling. All the beaches are a short drive away (15-25 min max) and the we enjoyed the pool in afternoons. We loved Shambles (5 min away) for dinner and ate there a couple of times during our trip. Linda was so helpful and generous with providing lots of information and answering any question promptly. This was our first family trip since the pandemic began, and Cloud Nine on St John provided a gorgeous, safe environment for our family to come together to visit, snorkel, hike, laugh in the sunshine, and relax. Everything was exactly as advertised plus more. The owners really thought of everything at the villa to make the most of your St. John vacation. Perfect location with a great view. The property was immaculate. The layout was ideal for parents with teenagers- bedroom separate from the kitchen and living room allowed the old man (me) to go to bed and get up early while the rest of crew stayed up late and slept in. Neighborhood restaurants are excellent. Close to everything you want and need in Cruz bay but just far enough away from it all to feel like you had the island to yourself. We’ve been to the island many times over the years staying at the old Maho Bay, Concordia and many different homes and villas- this location is our favorite- clean, convenient, reasonably priced with amazing views. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality. ##### Denise D. Everything was clean and well cared for. The day would begin or end with a swim in the pool. In between were adventures swimming and snorkeling in the ocean and of course eating good food! Loved having the pavilion to have a meal and shelter from sun or a light rain. Most of all we enjoyed the fabulous views!! The views were stunning and the location is the best. I would rent Coud Nine again for sure. We loved the location. It’s a short drive to town and just a bit further to all the beaches. The house is beautiful and clean. Best vacation ever!! Must eat at Scrambles at the top of the hill across from the health center. My family and I had an amazing time at Cloud 9 and the views were amazing. The house was very nice and the breezes meant we never had to turn on the A/C.
