Great place for a young family

Overall, our stay was great. The beach is more like a 5-7 minute walk along th nature path or the road. Our coffee maker and hose didn't work, but everything else was perfect. We took long bike rides, walked on the beach and used the pool every single day. We would love to come back.

Perfect Island Getaway

Thanks to the owners for allowing us to experience their beach getaway, Mayberry on Bayberry. We had a great time, the property was very welcoming, comfortable, clean, well stocked and private. The spacing of the homes in the plantation was awesome. The grands loved the pool and they aren’t always the quietest bunch! The paths made quick access to the beach. The food at the locally owned restaurants was very good. Webers donuts were delicious and worth the early morning wait! Perfect place for a relaxing stress free family vacation.

Great place/inaccurate listing

Overall this place was wonderful, clean, and the location can’t be beat. The private pool was great to have on hot days and the short walk to the beach is beautiful. The area is However, the listing pictures show bikes and chairs and these are not provided at the rental. There is a 160 VayK Life rental credit but when I booked the listing stated 250. Any question asked through messenger required several asks to get an answer which is the only reason I gave fewer stars for communication.

Weird Layout Warning!!!

First of all, I have never left a bad review on VRBO, and it honestly pains me to do so because of how much I love St. George Island! However, there were some serious issues with this home that were not addressed by the property management company when I messaged/e-mailed multiple times, primarily the fact that the listing stated that this home had 3 bathrooms when we booked it, when it actually has 2 (I see that the listing has been updated now). Not only that, but the 3rd bedroom is below the house totally separate from the main part of the house, without a bathroom, so anyone staying down there has to walk outside, under the garage, up the exterior stairs, and into the main part of the house to use the hallway bathroom. If the description of the home and the price point reflected this oddity and was upfront about it, I honestly don't think we would have minded! But not knowing was a very unwelcome surprise and caused a serious disruption to the flow/layout of guests in our 8-person group. (I noticed on the For Sale listing for this home on Zillow that it is listed as a 2br/2bath, which is much more accurate!). It really isn't big enough/suitable in terms of layout for multiple families as a result, even though it is listed as sleeping 10 people. (I guess the 10th person would be on the couch in the living room??) Future guests should also be aware that there were roaches aplenty in and around the house, both the large palmetto bugs and the smaller German cockroaches.

Great house and host

New house feel. Great location in plantation. Easy walk to beach and pool was awesome. Communication with host was excellent!! Couldnt be happier overall. Notation on picture of house with bicycles, just be aware that there is no bicycles supplied. Bit confusing, but the only very minor blip.

Peaceful getaway

This was a great little property! Close to the beach and easy to rent bikes and trailer to tote beach chairs and cooler. Stocked well for a family. We were a little surprised about the 3rd bedroom having to access from outside and no bathroom for that one, only the outdoor shower. So some kids had to come outside and up the deck stairs to use the bathroom during the night. Other than that we loved it! And the pool was perfect! We were glad we paid the extra to have it heated!
