The white sand beach and the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico are right across the street from this sunny, three-level home near the western tip of St. George Island. It's a cheerful, light-filled space, offering a private backyard swimming pool and foosball and air hockey tables to come home to after mornings spent fishing, kayaking, or sunbathing. Ascend the outdoor staircase and step inside to find the main living level on the second floor, bringing together the living room, the dining room, the kitchen, and the front sun room. Central air conditioning will keep you cool all summer, a gas fireplace is on hand for any chilly island evenings, and vibrant pops of color await throughout the house. The full kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a peninsula bar counter with stools for three, the dining room table seats six, and the two high-top tables in the sun room offer four stools apiece for casual meals and cocktails. There's no shortage of entertainment at the house, between the lanai-covered swimming pool out back, the foosball table in the bunk room downstairs, and the air hockey table in the ground-floor sun room. At night, you can leave the day's swimsuits and towels in the laundry room, which includes a second refrigerator for any additional drinks and beach snacks that need to be stored. The main bedroom suite - featuring a sitting room and a private bathroom - is on the second floor, while three more bedrooms - two with direct access to the deck and one with its own en suite bathroom - await upstairs. The ground floor is ideal for kids, offering bunks and the two game tables. What's nearby: This three-level home sits just a few blocks from the western end of St. George Island, with the beach and the gulf accessible right across the road. The island's main town can be found only seven miles northeast, as can the St. George Island Lighthouse and a number of restaurants, cafes, shops, recreational outfitters, and fishing and boating charters. St. George Island State Park - a fantastic place for birding, fishing, and incredible sunsets - is 15 miles northeast as well. Spacious, nice rooms, plenty of dining and seating. But, the local property management was awful. Even though I listed the guests, they require you send a separate email to list drivers and cars to get into the gated community. I did this, but never got a response. I was given a pass, but when my daughter arrived, she was denied access thru the gate. Emailed again, and again, no response. Even now, no response. Moral of the story, nice house, but if you decide to rent it, harass the property manager incessantly until you get a response. Having to stop cooking on Thanksgiving to drive to the gatehouse and get your daughter isn’t fun. ##### Bret B. The house does need some TLC along with the pool and outdoor furniture. Covers on the sofas need to be replaced due to stains. The downstairs master bedroom could use new carpet or a good cleaning.The kitchen was very well stocked. It was nice having 2 refrigerators. Lots of room for multiple families. Cleaning crew had pizza cooking in oven Floors were dirty had black dog hair everywhere. Pool towels were still in dryer we had to fold had to buy cleaning supplies to sweep and mop floors. Turned lights on in kitchen one night and there were water bugs on counter and in floor. Air on third floor wasn’t working however that was fixed promptly. Screen around pool had holes we ended up with a snake in the pool. I would recommend homeowner check the property out. Unfortunately we paid good money for a vacation that we had to clean our self after cleaning crew left. When reported we received sorry for our inconvenience please enjoy our stay. I emailed our information for drivers on Sat. morning as we were on our way to Florida. Even after contacting Vacasa 3 times after we arrived, the gate staff never had our information in their computers which meant we never received a pass. The staff did let us in because I had our confirmation number. I'm not sure where the mis- communication was happening. The location and the house were great for our family and the extra tables for eating were an added benefit. The bedrooms were a nice size. We had a wonderful week. (The dolphins put on a show for us each day.) This was our 5th trip to St George Island. It is a perfect place to relax and just enjoy being together as a family. ##### Cynthia B. Casa Del Mar is our favorite sub division in the Plantation. We were right across from the beach. Heated pool, outdoor fish cleaning area and plenty of space. Walks on the beach kept us going as we worked remotely from here during the month of February. We had a garbage disposal issue (back up sewage into the sink also when dishwasher was running) which was extended by inability to reach our contact person (I should say we we really really liked her) because of her mid-week days off. The house large with plenty of room for our 7 person group. The kitchen was a nice size with pans and utensils for cooking. The beach was across the street and it was nice to have a heated pool since it was cooler the week we were there in the 50's two days going into the 60's . Suggestions for next time. The house could have used a little more cleaning and with a large group staying a week we should have been left with more than two garbage sacks for the week, probably one for each day of our stay. ##### Tricia L. Perfect house for our extended family vacation. We were thankful for quick communication with VACSA when helping us out or answering our questions. There were many nice surprises like cards and some outdoor games, beach toys, beach chairs, etc. (perhaps left by previous renters) and we enjoyed using those. Plenty of towels and extra blankets.
