We invite you to relax and recharge old Florida style in a private Bayfront lot surrounded by natural vegetation and your own private dock on the Apalachicola Bay! This 2BR/3BA home sleeps 4 and features multiple outdoor spaces to enjoy and experience. The spacious, open living area with tall ceilings and decorative beams, has a large flat screen with Blu-ray player, Bose CD stereo and comfortable seating (sorry, fireplace is not available). The dining table offers dining with a gorgeous water views and the well-equipped kitchen shines with new stainless-steel appliances and natural lighting with tall windows and sky light. The nearby laundry room has a full-size washer/dryer. A bonus Bayside sunroom is a great space to lounge while enjoying the panoramic Apalachicola Bay views. The sunroom also opens onto the furnished Bayside sun deck where you can dine outdoors or simply sit and take in the sunsets. The large, Westside master bedroom has a King bed, flat screen TV w/ Blu-ray player and Bay views. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, double sinks and ample counter space. The Eastside guest bedroom with Queen bed also offers Bay views, flat screen TV w/ DVD player and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Ground level is a game room with ping pong table and full bathroom. Outdoor amenities include covered parking, gas grill, outdoor shower and complimentary water gear that includes 3 kayaks and 2 SUP boards! The private dock is great for viewing the local water life, fishing and launching your kayaks and SUP boards! Or simply sit and enjoy the natural setting. Please note, launching kayaks takes place at the end of the dock and can require some heavy lifting during low tide. Entrance into the Shell Point channel can be shallow and does not allow for boats to moor at the dock. Beach access is an easy 3-minute walk from the property and is just across the main road, Gulf Beach Drive. On your walk to the beach you will cross the 6-mile long bike path that leads back to the center of the Island where shops and restaurants are located or to the St. George Island State Park entrance which is only a 4-minute bicycle ride from the property! This was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in. I love that everything was laundered, including bedding and bathmats. The beds were very comfortable. But the location is what made this place incredibly special. Quiet and peaceful, with amazing views of the bay. The house was tucked into the trees with no visibility from the road- super private. We sat out on the dock and watched the fish jump for hours. The beach was just across the road. The kitchen is spotless too and well equipped for cooking. The trade off of this location is that it’s a short drive (or bike ride) to town - 3 miles. Worth the trade off! The bike trail runs the whole way, so safe and easy. There is the coolest oak tree in front of the house which I instantly fell in love with. We went to the dock before we ever set foot in the house and saw large crabs and fish were jumping all in front off the dock. We love to fish so this was a welcomed sight. When we finally made into the house, we were not disappointed. Everything was clean and the house is spacious. It was stocked with everything we initially needed. The size of the home and the location were great. Tremendous view of the marsh and bay! Service and communication with the rental agency was excellent. On the down side, the house and property are older and could use a lot of TLC. The grounds were unkept and in disrepair. While it could have been because of our stay, trees had been cut in the back yard and had not been removed. The dock area was new but had no railings or other safety features and we felt this was a liability. Inside, the kitchen and bathrooms were obviously remodeled, so we assumed the rest of the house was a work in progress. Again, a LOT of TLC needed. Furniture was old, worn, and in some cases smelled bad. In need of replacement. Same with the mattresses. They desperately need replacement. Downstairs game room smelled very musty and we did not use. Would we stay there again? Absolutely! But only because of the location and only if we has assurances that some improvements and repairs had been made. This property is off the road has a fantastic dock and is private with great views of the bay! There is an access to the beach directly across from it. We think our view of the bay area was even better than the beach view. The sunsets in mid September were breathtaking and we could watch from the comfort and privacy of our dock!!! ##### Sandra V. Dock in backyard is fabulous. Great sunsets every night from there! Beach is across the street. House is clean, 2 beds, 2 baths with terrific laundry room (washer an dryer ++). Absolutely fabulous vacation and stay at Shell Point! Awesome location and home on the bay, even better than the pictures. House was spotless and had everything we needed. Views were amazing. We had a great time kayak fishing in the bay and also enjoyed the beach which was just a very short and easy walk to get to. We rent on St. George most summers and this was the best house we've stayed at, and property managers were so thoughtful. Highly recommend! ##### steve & sarah a. The house was clean and spacious with a well stocked kitchen and the views of the bay were fantastic! Better than the photos on the website. The beach across the street was pretty and quiet and an easy walk. The property managers called to see if we needed anything - we didn't but it was a nice touch. We will be back! ##### patty H. Sparkling clean beach house with every comfort one could need or want. Its the bay access and stunning bayside views/sunsets that make this island home extra special. Easy beach access across the street and the State Park is practically next door. There is a private dock on the bayside to launch the house supplied kayaks/paddleboards, or to sit and watch the sunsets and birds. Comfy, light-filled sitting areas are perfect for coffee, reading and relaxing. The high-end kitchen knives, stainless steel cookware, and quality appliances make cooking a joy too. Wonderful view of the bay and a short walk to the beach. Beach was wide white sand with high dunes. There is over three miles of deserted beach going east. The bayside dock provided a relaxing spot in the evening. It was too cold and windy for kayaking. Not much on St George Island but Apalachicola has some nice shops. This house was MORE than we could have ever hoped for! The location, cleanliness, upkeep, and “extras” like paddle boards, etc., are just a few details to share. And the dock was absolutely amazing! We even caught some nice redfish right off of it!! Highly recommend for everyone. This will definitely be our go to place if available during our trips back down!!! ##### ashlee e.
