Being in such a vibrant area means you may hear some of the lively energy from the streets, especially on beautiful days. Also, typical of historic homes, the stairs sometimes have a bit of a creak. It adds to the charm, but to ensure a restful stay for our guests that might be light sleepers, we've provided white noise machines in each bedroom. Guest house access For guest privacy, one room is reserved as an office for the owners when not rented, and the unfinished basement is closed off for storage. Everything was as listed within the description. David and Karen ensure you are informed of every detail prior to your stay. Everything was as described. The hosts are very communicative and responsive. I have visited St. Charles several times in the past. It is a quaint town in Illinois boasting a number of delicious restaurants and charming boutiques. It is a lovely town with views of the Fox River and picturesque streets. I only gave a rating of 4 out of 5 for the location and neighborhood due to the service and treatment of my party at some of the restaurants visited during our stay. This is not a reflection of the hosts who were nothing but respectful and kind.
