Near Amphitheatre, Historic Downtown, Beach Our Lighthouse & Beach Retreat is located 5 minutes drive from the beach, 7 minutes drive from downtown St Augustine, and a short bike ride to the amphitheater, this 4 bedroom 2 baths beach-side home with a pool is close to everywhere you want to be. Terracotta tile throughout. The house has one large smart TV located in the living room and another tv in the master bedroom. Centrally located to beach, amphitheater, lighthouse, downtown, and 312\. Everything is within biking distance. Large L shaped lap pool, NOT fully screened. Great kid and pet friendly neighborhood. Older established street with lots of shade trees. The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled. The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins! The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself! Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup. If you have a large family and need a second location please inquire with the host about our other property that is nearby. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Pool was full of debris and pool area was also. Couldn’t walk barefoot at all and couldn’t swim the first few days of our 5 night stay which was extremely disappointing. Host was very responsive but the pool area was never cleaned during our stay. The pool was cleaned a few nights into our stay but no outdoor lighting of any kind worked so we couldn’t be outside after dark. Beds were very comfortable and overall layout of home was nice for family or group accommodations. Location was lovely for anyone visiting The St Augustine Amphitheater. ##### Sara M. The outside and pool area are due for a power washing, but this is the norm in Florida. The heated pool, firepit, and washer dryer made our trip. We used all three every day. It was also great to have beach towels provided. A bath mat would have been great but since there wasn’t one I simply made sure the shower curtain was inside the shower (if you don’t, water will escape -just ask the kids in our group) and used an extra towel as a mat. Kitchen is well stocked but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. Screened porch and pool were both missing their doors, but they may have been being repaired based on them being in the garage. I recommend this property without reservation. ##### Rachel W. We had a key code to check in. The neighborhood was quiet. No one bothered us.Having a heated pool was great as the weather wasn’t super hot. The owner kept in touch with us via Vrbo messaging, and it was an easy process.. This is close to the beaches and restaurants not within walking distance but a quick 5 to 10 minute drive. We utilized the free parking at the St. John’s pier. The king and queen size beds were super comfortable. The only downside I can think of is the twin beds were a little hard, but we didn’t need to use those as there was enough larger beds for our family of 5\. Would book again when in the area. ##### Manuel R. Love the twin beds in with the king size beds. Our son loved being able to stay in the same room. Just few small things that were strange.. like telling us not to pee on the seat and the heated pool was apparently set to 85 but no way it was that warm. Great location. Next time we will stay when it’s warmer so we can use the pool more. We actually loved staying in at night cause the house was so perfect for us. ##### Sarah D. Accommodated 8 adults and 2 children. Never felt overcrowded. Backyard all paver and a screened in pool. Brought 2 small dogs. We enjoyed the fire pit and the pool was nice and warm. The kitchen is well appointed with most things needed to cook and the large island was a plus. Had an issue with the plumbing when we arrived that was promptly fixed. Only negative is the house could have been cleaner. Found a dirty sock in my room and the windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of them. Nothing a little windex didn’t fix. The area behind the pool is very overgrown with weeds very unsightly. The beds were clean and bathrooms were clean so all is well. ##### J C. We loved our stay at David and Patti’s home in St Augustine. It was such a cute home and close to the beach! I loved the outdoor spaces, it was really cozy. The pool was a great size as well. The home was immaculate inside and out. It has a very homey feel. The pool and fire pit were enjoyable especially in the evening after a day at the beach! Séjour de 3 nuits en août 2024 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Gennaro B. 26 août 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Amazing stay The location is nice and roomy with an amazing kitchen complete with a great amount of pots, pans, dinnerware and appliances (way more than most of the other places I have stayed in). The beds in each of the rooms are huge, but pillows are limited - If you sleep with a lot of pillows like me, make sure you bring extra. Pool area was nice, a great place to hang out and relax. The floors in the back are a little wonky so you have to make sure to watch your step. The location is convenient to get to town if you want to see the historic sites of St. Augustine, and a short drive to many restaurants, shops and stores.
