Walk directly out your back door down the dune to the beach. A short 10 minute drive from historic Saint Augustine, and only five minutes to Vilano Beach with a full service Publix and several great restaurants. Or if you don't want to drive, just walk 1/4 mile up the beach to the Reef restaurant or across the street to Cap's on the intercoastal waterway. This 3-bed, 3-bathroom beach house for up to 8 guests is a perfect family home. Ideal for a group or two families traveling together. The ground floor bedroom in Casa Pelicanos is like a separate guest suite. It features its own kitchenette, private living area with its own 50” HDTV (Roku, BluRay/DVD players) and a comfy queen bed for two. Whether two people in your group like to sleep late, or you have older parents with a slightly different itinerary, this is a fantastic two-for-one vacation rental. On the patio outside the ground floor you'll find a barbeque for cooking the fresh fish from the ocean fish you can catch yourself right in back of the house on the beach or buy locally. The backyard sitting area, flows directly out on to the dune and down to the beach. Upstairs, the living room is on the second level (so you get even better ocean views). All new elegant rattan furniture with a unique twist, with matching dining, lounge and entertainment areas combined in an open plan. Soaring ceilings with new leaf style fans. There's of course free wireless Internet throughout, and another 50" HDTV. The dining area flows into the kitchen. The kitchen is a large gourmet kitchen with up close ocean view, enclosed laundry, and walk-in pantry - stocked with all the appliances, cooking equipment, silverware, plates, dishes, cups etc that you'll ever need. A breakfast bar has for barstools, just above a huge stretch of kitchen countertop. The U-shaped kitchen is spacious: just remember to glance up at the ocean view as you move easily between fridge, oven and dishwasher. A washer and dryer are also included (we're guessing you'll use a lot of beach towels and we've stocked those for you too) The second floor also features a bedroom with two twin beds. Between the bedroom and kitchen is a newly remodeled bathroom, with elegant shower, leopard color basin sink, lighted mirror, and bidet toilet. A wraparound deck and 40 feet of windows looking right at the beach will mesmerize you. Outside on the main deck there are sturdy yet comfortable patio furniture, an outdoor dining table. Upstairs, the master bedroom continues the soothing beach palette. On the third floor you get an even better view of the ocean below. A private balcony gives you a sunrise all to yourself (or you might lazily enjoy it through the window from bed). The master bathroom is newly remodeled with stunning onyx blue tile, dual showers with side squirters and wands, blue basin sinks, lighted mirrors, and a bidet toilet. All together the three bedrooms have a king bed in the master bedroom, queen on the ground floor, and two twins (plus an extra sleeper sofa in the loft area outside the mater bedroom, should you need it). Casa Pelicanos is on a quiet stretch of the scenic highway A1A so you can head north up the gorgeous coast to Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra or south to St. Augustine, charming Flagler Beach and onward to popular Daytona. But you won't find a better beach anywhere. Just bring your sunscreen and enjoy! All amenities and nice vacation-extras are within minutes. Charming Vilano beach has a Publix, restaurants and shops. Want to have your cake and eat it too? It's just 104 miles to Disney World. You can get up, enjoy the ocean sunrise, have a family breakfast and still make it to Orlando before Magic Kingdom opens. Your time at Casa Pelicanos promises to be a vacation of incomparable quality. Update December 2024 The dune and beach was restored by the US Army Corps of Engineers in Sept of 2023, so the dune and beach are big. The house was freshly painted inside and out, also in Sept 2023\. After that, in 2024, we remodeled the middle and master bathrooms, with delightful results. The house definitely needs to be deeper cleaned, especially kitchen and HVAC vents. The kitchen could use some nicer and additional dishes/utensils for guests who cook. Overall the house needs to be updated, exterior needs cleaned up, it's very dated and wall facing ocean needs some attention. Rust coming from outlets is not a good sign. Owner was very helpful with dishwasher not working and faucets not working properly. Thank you! Stove is missing a control knob, so only 3 burners are useable. Location, location, location!!! First…it smells bad throughout. Kind of a sour musty old smell. There is not enough flatware, dishes, utensils or serving dishes. The kitchen pantry had multiple brooms and cleaning supplies (toxic) just thrown in where there was food. The closet on the ground floor was filled with a mess of mops,brooms, buckets and cleaning supplies just thrown in haphazardly making access to the towels difficult. The towels felt damp and smelled musty I spent an hour straightening it up . . The closet in the second floor bedroom was again stuffed with numerous containers as well as baby items thrown in on top of each other. The “in-law suite” on the ground floor is old, damp and smelly …the whole area is uninviting. The master bedroom is spacious but the rug is stained, the furniture old and worn. The bed sheets were ill fitting and cheap. The grill was broken, gross and unusable. There were no adult beach chairs, no working umbrella. There were left over building supplies scattered near the patio and on the side of the house. There were uneven blocks laid piecemeal that comprised the patio. The entire place seemed as though they had just thrown it together . . Oh another rather peculiar thing… the floors always feel sandy and gritty. …no matter how much you rinse before coming in, due to the lack of good rugs ##### Midge W. We wanted him to see the ocean and make lovely memories for the whole family. We saw dolphins, watched the sunrise each morning, played games. The house is a perfect layout, bathrooms are gorgeous and the kitchen is large. It was an amazing experience and would stay here again. It might become our family’s new tradition. My family and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful beach house! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the home was. It had everything we needed and more, making it easy to settle in and relax. The location was unbeatable—just steps away from the beach with stunning views of the water, and close to wonderful shops and fantastic restaurants. The hosts were incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect for our stay, ensuring we felt welcome and comfortable. We spent our days enjoying the pristine beach and clear water, and it was the perfect spot for our family getaway. The house is very accommodating and had everything we needed including the most amazing bathrooms! There were beach supplies available for my kids and we all enjoyed swimming in the ocean all day and then watching movies together at night! The downstairs apartment is so convenient for those who are traveling with you and want their privacy (grandparents, couples, etc). The open floor plan on the main level offers tons of space for everyone. We had a party of 4 and really appreciated the spaciousness! Location to the beach cannot be beat! So close to the house you don't even need to cart a cooler, just run up to the house for anything you need. We have stayed at four different beach houses through the years on Vilano Beach and this one, by far, exceeds them all! All the beds were comfortable, beach towels were available for use in the laundry closet, there were some beach toys under the balcony at ground level that were left from other guests. However, bring your own beach chairs and umbrella, those are not provided. Location to downtown St. Augustine is less than 10 minutes away. Definitely try Vinnie's pizzeria over the bridge, it's far better than the pizzeria next to Publix and stays open longer!!! ##### Christina V. My husband and I stayed in this beautiful beach home for the second time. Absolute wonderful location and couldn’t be any closer to the beach. They’ve upgraded two of the bathrooms and have gone above and beyond beautiful. We had a minor issue with the hot water heater and within an hour someone showed up to fix it. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect vacation getaway. My husband and I look forward to our next stay. ##### Tracy C. Not even worth delving into all the detail, as I numerous poor reviews have already done. I unfortunately missed them by trusting the verified host and 4.7 star review. Please listen to all of the reviews about cleanliness. Entire property was misleading for more reasons than just that. Ended up having to stay somewhere else as a result. I really don’t have much more I want to say, the host will be writing a bad review in response to this as they’ve already informed me. I’m not some property witch-hunter, not out to ruin reputations, I only know what I could see first-hand. I was just trying to enjoy a vacation with my family and was hardly able to. We always rent a house on the beach. The house itself and location are Great! It could have been a little cleaner. There was sand on the living room furniture, the twin beds on 2nd floor were very poorly made to the point of wondering how clean they were. Bed spreads definitely need washing or replacing. Sand was on the floors of every floor. The porches and railings are infested with spiders. Place just needs a good ol fashion cleaning. I am usually not so critical, but the property was empty for two days before we arrived. With that being said, we asked about an earlier check in time other than 5pm. I was told "if there not any vehicles in the driveway the cleaning people are gone." We could've checked in at noon. When we checked out at 10am, the cleaning guy was already there. Bottom line is property owner could be a little bit more involved. Location is great! We did have a good vacation, but will not book this property again. ##### james w. There was nothing better than waking up to the sunrise on the beach right outside our doors. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves (mid July)! We surfed everyday and had the best stay here! My only down fall was the overall cleanliness of the property. I believe it needs a deep clean and check the functionality of the entire house, there were bathroom doors that didn’t close. There was trash behind the loft bed, there were stains and dirty marks on multiple beds/bedding. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds ever slept in. The location and view was perfect, just wish the property was cleaner. We would definitely stay here again if we see future reviews of the cleanliness being subpar. ##### Attleigh L. Casa Pelicanos was the perfect house for our family vacation! The views from all 3 levels were stunning--no bad location to watch the sunrise without even having to step outside! The 3 levels provided the perfect amount of space for each of our family members. The host truly thought of everything we needed - from power strips all over to a water filter in the kitchen and plenty of other helpful items on hand. The location cannot be beat, right on the beach. The outdoor space with a covered area on the bottom floor, spacious deck on the main and third floor balcony are wonderful. We all enjoyed shelling, hunting for sharks teeth and relaxing. There were two turtle nests close to the home, but it was still too early for hatching. There are great restaurants within minutes, especially Caps on the Water. Publix is also very convenient. Overall we found the home a perfect fit for our multi-generational family. ##### Amy L.
