This listing is for the upstairs "Barefoot Hideaway I" unit. Barefoot Hideaway is nestled back off the road and is right on the beach. The unit shares a building with "Barefoot Hideaway II" downstairs. Each unit has it's own private, locked entrance while having a common outer entry and laundry area. Each separate unit sleeps 10, or rent them together to sleep 20! Please inquire to rent multiple units. This vacation complex is on a truly beautiful and private part of the beach, and yet is minutes from downtown St. Augustine, Matanzas Inlet, and all of the area attractions! This three bedroom, two bath unit is completely reconstructed and freshly finished in modern beachy decor to create the perfect vacation environment. It features an large back porch which overlooks sunrises on the beach and doubles the living space. Three bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable furnishings, and baths and kitchen are fully stocked with everything you need for your stay. The living area is light and bright and includes a dining area and a pull-out Queen bed. And the best part of all....Step out onto a little short boardwalk that takes you over the dunes and through your private gate onto the beach! Beach supplies such as beach chairs, towels and cooler are provided. \*\*\*Note: The pool heater is available upon request from November 1st - April 15th. Please inquire for pool heating prices. Requests must be made at least 24 hours before checkin. Depending on the weather conditions, the pool may not hit the set point of the heater. This property was perfectly located to everything and wonderfully suited to a family. It had everything we could’ve needed, including games and beach toys for our children. Not including all of the starter items provided like soap, toilet paper and beach towels especially! What a space saver in our luggage to not have to pack beach towels! We were also deeply appreciative of the equal amenities provided for ourselves and the neighbors in the other unit. Two washers and two dryers, so there was never a question of who got to use them and when. There were also two tables with chairs and four lounge chairs so that us and the other unit never felt like we were on top of each other. Our neighbors were lovely and the trip was perfection. The ONLY hiccup was that there was no access to the pool area from the upstairs deck but this was so minor and in the long run, the extra little bit of walking was good for us! The communication with management was so easy and they were friendly and responsive. Free tickets were also provided to some of the local attractions which was a cherry on top of an already great experience. It’s an easy 15-20 minute drive to downtown St.Augustine with plenty of activities and restaurants closer if you don’t want to go that far. The pool and beach were great. Many memories made. One of the most relaxing family vacations we've had in a long time. This place offers everything! Beautiful inside and out. The back porch is where we spent most of our time. One of our 16yr old sons actually slept out there. Views are amazing. The wind coming off the ocean is perfect. We only showered and slept inside. The porch, pool and beach was where we spent our time. We took advantage of the free attraction tickets that was updated daily. It's within walking distance to so many places. It's off the rd so you don't get any traffic noise. Plenty of beach chairs and beach towels were available. We loved it so much, we are already planning our family vacation for next year. IF, I had to name one thing to change it would be to add a long mirror on the back of a closet or bathroom door so us ladies can see our whole outfit before heading out to dinner or pictures. Although I have lived in Florida most of my adult life, I have never been to the St Augustine area. We really liked the house as well as the beach. The beach was one of the better beaches that we have been to and the house was right on the beach. Although the house was about 25 minutes from the "downtown" part of St Augustine, it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. The house was as advertised, very clean and well stocked with the essentials (except maybe TP). We would highly recommend this house and plan on coming back in the future. The price was fair as well. The only recommendations that we would make would be to include more TP (gave us 4 rolls for 9 people over 3 days), 2 of the 3 doors were tough to close (including the main door to the house), and we could not get the dishwasher to work. Lots of good waves! The check-in process and communications were efficient and self-explanatory. The upstairs unit was quiet with good layout for 4 adults. The unit is in need of attention. It would benefit from a complete interior repainting, better quality linens, deep cleaning especially of the windows, sills and light fixtures.
