The hotel was an older hotel, one that has not had overly frequent renovation. Nevertheless, every important function one would expect of the room worked flawlessly. The A/C had a fan option for those, like me, who prefer a little background noise and a good thermostat. The room was clean and the partial view of the ocean from the balcony was great. The maids also honored Do Not Disturb signs and were not overly eager to gain access to the room as can happen in some hotels. The desk staff of only one to two persons depending on the time were overtasked, but not ridiculously so, and helpful nonetheless with recommendations about local restaurants and events. They just made it clear by their manner they didn't really care to have a conversation with you. Obi's, a nice burger joint 7/10 of a mile to the north and on the beach side of the road had a great breakfast menu at a better price than the hotel's, and the friendliest, chattiest wait staff ever! Recommend breakfast there instead. All in all, I would go back here if in Saint Augustine again. It's a good value for the money and the beach location can't be beat!
We had a great trip and were treated like kings and queens. I've never met a more friendly hotel employee than Kim and the cleaning staff was also phenomenally kind and friendly. Our preschooler was welcomed with open arms and he felt very special. And mini golf right next door? A kid's dream!
We used the pull-out bed for our preschooler, which - as another user mentioned - blocked access to the bathroom at night, so we just shimmied it around. It should be noted, however, that the couch is more like a love seat size than a couch size.
The room felt muggy even though we ran the AC, but maybe that's a beach thing? It wasn't unbearable, just noticeable.
The grounds were beautiful and the easy access to the beach was a real gift during our stay. We popped out there in between our many other activities as often as possible! We didn't make it to the pool, but it was heated, so we could have.
Overall, a great stay.
I stayed at this hotel overnight for a quick trip down to Florida. The was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The only down side was that the AC was not on in the building and it was a bit stuffy when we got to the room. This was easily fixed by turning on the unit.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, comfortable room. Large space, comfy bed. Quick walk to beach. Few minutes drive to old St Augustine. On site restaurant was very nice, reasonable prices. Really loved this hotel. Would definitely stay again.
Steven was such a great guy. I travel a lot and do most of my business through the internet or event manager books my rooms. This man was such a kind and delightful gentleman to correspond with and definitely went out of his way to meet my accommodations. I will definitely be back room #304 will be forever be the best.🔟
Front desk person was very accommodating when we had to extend our stay. Room was clean and we had a great view of the beach. Got up early to watch the sun rise over the ocean. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.
St. Augustine Beach is a small town 6 miles southeast of St. Augustine on Anastasia Island. Anastasia State Park is directly to the north. The town boasts miles of beaches. Local activities include golf and deep-sea fishing excursions. The St. Augustine Alligator Farm, north of town, was founded in 1893 and houses a variety of alligators and reptiles.
