Our stay wasn't perfect, therefore i cant necessarily give it an Excellent rating. However, the atmosphere, the rooms, dining options, and especially the Staff members were outstanding. Everytime I passed by a staff they always asked how my day was going or a simple greeting and it was very lovely. The waiters & waitresses were so kind and patient. The ghost tour is phenomenal. Ethan, the tour guide for that day, was so charismatic and an incredible story teller. He had our whole group captivated for the 30 minutes. I loved the Adult Swim option they offered at 10pm-11pm. The food was phenomenal from the Pub downstairs to the buffet breakfast they offer. All of it was delicious! The downsides to the stay was I found a previous guests earring bud in the sheets of the bed. I also noticed there was some black stains on the white blankets we had. There was no body wash remaining in the bottle hanging in the shower. Our biggest complaint was the lack of sound proofing. We heard every conversation outside of our room, guests footsteps as well. Overall it was a fantastic stay, and I took the time to write this review for the simple fact that it was amazing, there was just some minor things that created minor inconveniences. The resort itself is gorgeous. The sheer size of it towers over all of Saint Andrews and it is magnificent. Definitely would recommend to families and couples! 4.5 Stars!

Pendant le congé de mars, il y avait plein d’enfants qui couraient et qui hurlaient dans les couloirs. Les heures de piscine et bain à remous sans enfant étaient de 22h à 23h. C’est très peu de temps si l’on tient compte des heures d’ouverture de la piscine. J’y suis allée précédemment et c’était beaucoup plus calme et nous aimons l’endroit alors nous allons y retourner, mais dans des temps plus calmes. Nous avons mangé au bar et le matin au buffet. Nous n’avons pratiquement reçu aucun service, je ne sais pas s’il manque d’employés, mais bon, la nourriture était excellente.

The building & surrounding grounds were beautiful- even in mid February! The staff were excellent & always greeted you with a smile. Sydney the hotel dog was a pleasant surprise & only added to the homey feeling of the resort. Hope to come back someday - highly recommend!

The property is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. What I did like is the threshold going into the bathroom. With arthritis and knee problems it was a tripping hazard.

A perfect girl’s weekend. We enjoyed being able to sit in the lobby close to the fire place and with the option to order a drink from the bar. The bedroom was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Plus we saw a couple of deers on the hotel property and we were able to get very close. This is most definitely not our last time visiting St Andrews and staying at the Algonquin.

Elevator was broken which is not ideal to walk up to 3rd floor with luggages and hockey bag. They were very accommodating for hockey parents to have areas to socialize.

Expected much better for such a grand hotel.
Not as fantastic as I thought it would be or what other reviews said. I asked to change rooms because there was a broken curtain rod and the beds were very saggy. I did get an upgrade after I complained and got a breakfast voucher. The food was very good. The hotel could use interior painting and a good scrub in the shower.

The property does not accommodate for accessibility and even though an accessible room was booked and call made to confirm we did not have an accessible room on arrival and it took 5 rooms until we could be accommodated and that was ONLY after asking another customer to relocate. Travelling with a 90 year old Senior and it took over 3 hours to get a room a check in. Very Disapppointing .

This was a beautiful property and we had a lovely stay. The room was clean and contained some of the early 1900’s charm although clearly it had been updated. The only thing I would mention is that the mattress in our room likely needs replacement as it was soft and lumpy. But otherwise a wonderful stay.
