Not worth the mention money
They need a lot of maintenance an improvement, and the rooms are felled of ants and mosquitoes and geckos. The only good thing is the restaurant manager and the swimming pool specialist.

Avoid at all costs
I was ecstatic on check-in to my luxurious villa with a private pool surrounded by lush greenery, but excitement turned to illness after eating 3 meals from the hotel (couldn't eat anywhere else since it's an isolated resort) and developing severe food poisoning. I ultimately left 2 days early to see a doctor in Colombo. Staff would not refund remaining days (at $500/night) nor would they even let me use their phone or internet to get in touch with Hotels.com to try to make a complaint or sort out the situation. Very poor customer service from the on-site staff all the way up to their corporate office staff with whom I had to deal - who tried to settle things by offering a voucher for a discounted rate on a subsequent stay with them (NO WAY). Will never return.

Nice place to relax, but away from the beach.
The resort was a bit hard to find, as it was about 2 kms from the beach. The resort was a lovely retreat, but being away from the beach dampened our enthusiasm. We were upgraded to a Bungalow with a jacuzzi, but the bedside had a residence of house lizards, so we asked for the original place, which was gladly arranged. The food is ok, and very expensive for the taste. There is no front desk, but a entry to the bar/lounge where you are welcomed with a drink.

An oasis of calm!
Having read the reviews, after we had booked, we were very concerned about this stay, however we had a wonderful time. We have learned over the last few years that 5star is different in different countries and you have to accept this, having said this management at this resort is working hard and they will get there but the prices will change also . This stay was excellent value!!!! The staff were lovely, nothing was too much for them and they were really charming. The setting is superb , so calm and relaxing especially when you have been out for the day in the mad traffic. The food was also excellent , different styles every day, good variety, wonderful cocktails and the New Year's Eve Dinner was amazing.

a disappointment despite the incredibly friendly s
This hotel was overall a disappointment and hugely overpriced. The setting is amazing and the outdoor area with pool a treat. The food is average, monotonous, tamed for western tastes. Whilst the staff are eager, friendly and ever - smiling, their management and the condition of the hotel fails to deliver the service one expects for the price.
