We brought a telescope with us - there was minimal light pollution so we were able to see the stars and Saturn. The cabin had all the necessities - we didn't need to bring anything but our clothes and toiletries - and the communication with the owner was clear and timely. Check in and check out was smooth. It's a very nice cabin in a beautiful spot. A little far from Castle Mountain Ski Resort. Being discouraged from adjusting the thermostat was annoying--the place was cool at times. We had the most magical honeymoon at this beautiful cabin! We needed a quiet place for a get away with our dog, that also had nearby fishing and this location did not disappoint. The views of the landscape alone are breathtaking, but the hospitality and amazing communication from the host Dennis makes this place our new favourite get away. He made sure we had everything we needed, including some good fly fishing spots :) - If you're looking for privacy, a perfect location for you and your loved ones (including the fur babies), somewhere close to hiking, fishing, waterfalls, amazing starry nights by the campfire and the best little mercantile store around - This is your place. Excellent views in remote country location. Google maps failed us, and we didn't have cell service, so we had to ask directions at the little general store in Beaver Mines. Be sure to watch for advance communication from the host regarding home entry, especially if you may not have cell service there. Not surprisingly, there is a security camera on the front deck. 45 minutes from Waterton and 15 minutes from Pincher Creek which has some decent dining and grocery options.
