For those of you who've been there - you know what we're talking about. For you first-timers, it's nothing like you've experienced before! Nature abounds around our comfortable, fully-furnished, 3-bedroom, 2-bath enchanted cottage home. Nestled in the sub-tropical maritime forest, amid the ancient live oaks and sabal palm trees, this charming family home is surrounded by a deck, with a screened-in crofter/gazebo attached. Our delightful cottage also features a garage, with 2-4 pass golf carts provided. Tooling around on the island in the cart (remember - the speed limit is 18 mph!) is half the fun of getting to your island destination! The decor and numerous amenities add to its charm, comfort, and ambiance. We've tried to think of every detail, from the numerous games and DVD/VCR movies on site to the wireless internet; from the Egyptian cotton sheets to the featherbed toppers in every room. The kitchen has been completely updated and provides the equipment that makes meal preparation a pleasure. Two newly remodeled bathrooms are equipped with features you'll love. It's the perfect setting for your family vacation. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of all the island has to offer during the day -- swimming, golf, tennis, kayaking, biking and hiking -- it's always nicer to return to your home in the quiet, secluded forest for a relaxing evening. Centrally located on Edward Teach Wynd, our home is just minutes away from the harbor area, 'Old Baldy', the chapel, creek access, golf course, conveniently located near the Maritime Market, hardware store, spa and gift shops. It's less than a 3-minute golf cart ride to the beach! The game selection was fantastic so between the gazebo, games, books, and large dining table we didn't use the TV in the evening at all. Great layout with the master down and 2 additional bedrooms upstairs. Nice location also. We prefer the Forest. Screened in porch was huge and so peaceful. My kids said they felt like the homeowners were “nice” because of the vibes and comfort of the home. Very welcoming. Beach towels were advertised, but not there. Convenient to all of our favorite spots on the island. House was clean, comfortable and cozy. Beds comfortable. Definitely a need for better closet space/storage in the master, as well as food storage in the kitchen. Centrally located, very easy access to the market, to the harbor and to the beach. The gazebo is a quiet place to escape and read or have a cup of coffee. We enjoyed our stay. ##### Sheryl L. This was our 5 th time staying in the house and everything was as we left it last year. We prefer the interior location rather than the beach houses for the privacy and the shade. All beaches were only a short golf-cart ride away; and we had easy access to all Bald Head Island amenities. We have stayed at this property in the past and expect to stay here again. It is very comfortable well stocked and well maintained. The property manager was excellent and accessible. This house was okay and my least favorite. Things I wish I had known prior to arrival are: the golf cart does not have working seatbelts, the towels have holes in them, the house has cobwebs in almost every room. This is a pet friendly home and while we have a pet I don’t think I’ll stay in another pet friendly home. On the positive side, the house is well stocked and reasonably priced. We didn't think we would be able to find a Labor Day weekend rental on BHI, but this gem popped up for us. Very comfortable house with all the necessities.
