The location is so convenient: an easy walk to the shops and restaurants, and guests can even walk along the water to Waterfront Park. The beautiful Gazebo is just across the street. Southport is a special place for our family. We visit as often as possible so we have a couple of favorite places to stay. Rhonda has made some helpful upgrades and improved the cleanliness immensely (we stayed here a few times before she became the new owner and the care of the Unit had gone downhill). It was nice to get away for a couple of days in a cute, quaint little town with great hospitality. Everything that we were interested in was in walking distance (restaurants, river tours, and even the downtown area). My only warning to future renters is the ceiling is thin, so we could hear the upstairs neighbors constantly walking back and forth (seemingly nonstop). Also, they had a dog that barked at everyone that walked by. While they didn't seem to care that their dog was barking, it was very disturbing (and we have a dog of our own at home).
