Woods & Water. Southport. Located on Southport Island, we are near the water, and adjacent to Capitol Island. This detached garage apartment is spacious and great for couples or solo adventurers. This is an open plan apartment with kitchen, dining and living spaces connected. There is a private bathroom and one bedroom with a queen bed. We have a sofa and also a modern sofa bed/futon as well as an air mattress. We recommend that the additional sleeping accommodations be used for children or short term guests. Stocked well enough for cooking, which we didn't do much of (not good idea if trying to lose weight. But so many great places to eat). Bed was comfortable and I tend to be the Princess and the Pea. Enough space to spread out. Great road to walk down and back for a little exercise. Hosts were wonderful to work with and met our needs well. Overall would stay here again. ##### Christine B. Very clean and comfortable. We never did meet the owner but we were out most of the days; and all our needs were met and expectations exceeded. The kitchen had everything we needed. The area is very quiet. There are a couple beautiful lighthouses that are a short drive away and a very quaint downtown area with a swing bridge and a restaurant that features fresh off-the-boat seafood and makes a generous lobster roll. There is also a quaint general store. Great place to use as home base for the many activities in the area--we went out to Eastern Egg Rock to see puffins and went kayaking one day. I am used to biking a lot on vacation but was a little intimidated by the main road around the island because the cars go by fast and there is no shoulder.
