I was pleasantly surprised. The motel was nicely maintained and the front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My only criticism is that the sink had no counter and there was no place to put my shaving kit. But I worked it out.
First night was a bit rough with power going out and no AC after a lightning storm. Our room safe and refrigerator did not work the first day either. After that, the staff went out the way to make us comfortable with a new fridge, working safe and careful attention to detail. The last two nights were very nice!

Bathrooms were clean and updated. Nice woodwork in hotel. Mattresses were above average for this price range. I stayed in a Best Western recently where the mattresses were too hard causing pressure point pain. These were just right. Complimentary chips and salsa were in the lobby when I arrived and they had the standard fare for breakfast plus biscuits with sausage gravy. I was having car trouble that day and found a wonderful mechanic down the street, Leroy at pep-boys just down the street on Cerrillos. So the pleasant hotel stay and the top notch car repair down the street combined to make this an excellent stay in Santa Fe
Booked the room for only one night on my way into town because I was pretty nervous that even though the reviews were good, it was too good a deal to be decent. The next morning I paid for four more nights. The location isn't bad with a car, I love that there are garage spaces. The bed was comfy and clean. Clean bathroom too. The decor is old, but who cares as long as its in good condition?

"Older hotel, showing age but clean and functional"
We were pleased that this hotel is dog friendly. The property is showing its age, but was in a clean and well kept condition. I was a little disappointed that there was no elevator, as my mom has trouble walking and the stairs were difficult. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our experience at Silver Saddle was great. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave great detailed descriptions of the activities that were available in Sante Fe and the surrounding area close to the hotel. The atmosphere at the hotel and the hotel grounds was a very cute, rustic 50's theme. Loved it!! If you are looking for a fancy up to date place I would not recommend this hotel but if you want a laid back rustic 50's experience this is your place. The décor and condition of the room would be considered outdated and somewhat in need of update anywhere else but in this case it fit the theme they are going for. The shower was a little small and the bed a little hard but the atmosphere, décor and landscaping was perfect. Thanks Silver Saddle. Hope to see you again.
South of downtown, historic buildings give way to residential neighborhoods and modern construction. A network of highways and an interstate connect this area with the cultural amenities of the old city. Southern Santa Fe includes the Santa Fe Municipal Airport and Santa Fe Place shopping center.
