This beautiful 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home is located in Southern Pines, one of three North Carolina communities known collectively as the “Home of American Golf.” New Pines Retreat can accommodate up to 7 guests in exceptional comfort. Enjoy easy access to nearby golf, horseback riding, hiking trails, kayaking, great restaurants, family fun and the historic downtown districts of the Southern Pines area—just two minutes up the road! The space Make yourself at home, whether you are on a weekend getaway or settling in for a longer stay. Built in 2022, this new construction two-level home has fantastic modern amenities. It’s located less than 15 minutes from the world-renowned Pinehurst Resort (scheduled host of the 2024 PGA U.S. Open Golf Championship), making New Pines Retreat a fantastic base for all your adventures. You’re going to have a great time here! Everything about this home is a breath of fresh air. The furnishings and décor are stylish, inviting and kick-your-shoes-off comfortable. The spacious living areas and large bedrooms feature warm neutrals, ceiling fans, lots of natural light and all the essentials for your visit. There’s a cushy couch and a big TV in the great room, indoor and outdoor dining areas plus a well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances and a Keurig coffee station. The enormous main bedroom has a queen bed, a huge walk-in closet and a private, spa-like bath with an oversized shower and dual-basin vanity. Guest room one includes a queen bed and a nook with a convenient desk—just in case you want to set up your laptop. The second guest room has a twin-over-full bunkbed. Room darkening shades help to ensure everybody gets a good night’s sleep. New Pines Retreat offers even more items from your list of must-haves: Wi-Fi, a dishwasher, air conditioning, pack-and-play/travel crib, books and reading materials, and a backyard with private deck. Guest access Free driveway parking on premises (2 spaces) and additional free parking available on the street. The driveway is a little rough, so you are welcome to park along the street, if preferred. Oct 28, 2024 Disliked: Location #### "Overwhelming Odor and Poor Maintenance Dampen Stay" Our stay was unfortunately far from enjoyable. The moment we walked in, an overwhelming stench nearly made us gag. The source quickly became clear: the garage was piled with what seemed like weeks’ worth of garbage, and the smell permeated the entire house. It’s clear the trash had been there a long time, as there were even maggots crawling on the garage floor. The house’s location also left much to be desired. It’s in a rough part of town, and the surrounding neighborhood feels completely different than southern pines/pinehurst. Across the street, a mattress, toilet, and crib were left rotting by the roadside, adding to the area’s unappealing atmosphere. To be fair, the interior rooms were clean, and the beds themselves were comfortable. However, it was hard to sleep well with the persistent odor of old garbage filling the air. Although the basics of comfort were covered, the lack of upkeep and unpleasant environment really affected our stay. This property could be decent with proper maintenance, but until the cleanliness and area issues are addressed, I wouldn’t recommend it. ##### Joey M.
