The reason for my visit to Freiburg was for the Christmas Market and to see Ravenna Gorge. The hotel was in a good location very close to the Munster and markets. The breakfast, staff and dining area were all very pleasant. It's a nice clean hotel close to shopping too. I would give this hotel 5 stars plus for their staff. When I checked out, I had forgotten my phone and I didn't realize it until I was getting ready to board my train to Baden Baden. A quick call to the hotel revealed they found my phone in my room and turned it in to the desk. I found them to be remarkably trustworthy. It was a great stay in the lovely city of Freiburg! Nothing negative to report.

Beds / mattresses are incredibly hard / uncomfortable- so lack of sleep my main issue. Bar / restaurant very limited opening hours and food choice. Carpets threadbare in many common areas. Only thing going for it is proximity to Freiburgs old town

The hotel is extremely poor and old, the beds are small and the pillows are so poor and old. I would never recommend any of the Mercure Hotel to anyone and will never book at their hotels myself either!

Room was sweltering and without AC even though AC was listed as an amenity. The staff blamed Hotels.com/Expedia for misrepresenting the hotel. The staff said to just open the window, which opened onto a busy street with lots of load partygoers. Very disappointing for the money.

Great staff and great hotel. Breakfast is paid but it's totally worth it as it's full op options. Big public parking with partnership with the hotel makes things very convenient.

I could happily have stayed longer here! The staff were just brilliant especially the gentleman on nights at reception who helped me sort out train journeys to Staufen! He went over and above - thank you! The hotel is perfectly placed for transport and just a few minutes walk from the Market place and facilities. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Good choice for single traveller
Solo trip to visit family in Freiburg. Didn't use any hotel social facilities (my choice to minimise any risky covid contact) but v impressed with care and cleanliness. Room 307 looks towards the Schlossberg, with morning sun. Comfy bed, would prefer firmer pillows but hey, that's such a tiny personal thing. Would definitely choose this hotel again. Perfect location for the old town and city centre.

Great location, comfy room with all we needed
We had a great stay at Mercure. Super location, comfy room and very friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay there again.
