It was a lovely Hotel in a great location - quiet but close enough to all the entertainment that the centre of Freiburg had to offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Enjoyable stay
Overall we enjoyed the hotel and our stay. The only thing the hotel could improve is that the bed is made of two twin beds which was not very comfortable. Otherwise all is good

The hotel was in a great location, within walking distance to the Minster, Rathausplatz and the Christmas markets. The room was smaller than the picture suggested but it was cozy, quiet and warm so we had a good night’s sleep. A free bottle of sparkling water was provided daily which was a nice touch. There was no fridge and tea/coffee facilities which should come as standard in a 4 star hotel.

We liked the big bedrooms and comfortable beds. The small bathroom mirror in my room was cracked and the hairdryer wasn't clean.

We stayed in the Designhotel as it was close enough to the old town to easily walk to and from (only around 5 minutes). The hotel is quiet, modern and more than comfortable. It's a great hotel for ensuring a good night's sleep whilst being close to the vibrant old town part of Freiburg

Summer Trip
We picked this hotel as it was away from the busy streets. We arrived early but said that we just wanted to park up and go into town, When she eventually got off the phone the receptionist said the room was not ready and we said we would return after 3pm. On our return she was again on the phone, chatting, we presumed this as no laptop was being used and no noted taken. Eventually someone else booked us in. I had specifically asked for a room away from the lifts and a quiet room as my partner has very sensitive hearing. We got a room away from the lifts but it was above the outside seating area. The hotel was not at all busy and we did not see anyone else on our floor at any time, so why this room? The room was small and I had to go around the other side of the bed to be able to open the bathroom door. The bathroom whilst nice, the only toiletries were the 2 soap dispensers. There is no air con but they had provided a large fan which was too noisy to have on at night so we opened the window. Unfortunately, to add to our woes building work started at 6 am!. This was a so called comfort room and certainly did not look like the online photos. Why was I asked twice if we had had breakfast ( we had not as it was 14 euros each per night). Did she think I would give in under interrogation. Nice place to visit but pick another hotel.

I really like this hotel and have stayed several times. Great little outdoor bar area. Was let down by poor internet on 3rd floor, first time I’ve had this issue in 4 stays.

terrific hotel, a very short walk to the beautiful centrum of Frieburg. Great park and Swartzwald forest a short walk away. I recommend renting their bikes and going for a bike ride. Really nice patio for a drink and an awesome breakfast, well done to the staff!

We love to stay at this hotel. It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the cathedral square. We have been upgraded several times to a large room with a sitting area. The breakfast room is lovely and the food is fantastic - great selection, fresh fruits, hot eggs, and lovely fresh breads. Stay on Friday night and walk over to the craft, flower, and green market on Saturday morning. Lovely area, lovely stay.

Comfortable hotel close to the centre
The hotel was only a 5 min walk to the edge of the Aldstadt, so not far to get to the shops and restaurants. About 15 mins to the railway/bus station. It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. There was a bar serving a variety of food and drinks, and we had the breakfast on one of the days - it was a bit expensive to have breakfast every day at 15 euros each. For breakfast there was a selection of breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit and a few hot things too. The staff were all really nice and humoured our terrible attempts at German. They were all fluent in English! Thank you to the lady at reception who made a note of my birthday; they left a birthday bottle of sparkling wine in the room which was a really nice touch :)

Great neighborhood hotel close to old city
This was our second stay here. We enjoy the hotel and its proximity to the old city. I like the quiet little neighborhood where it sits, at the bottom of the hill that comprises a city park. We were upgraded this visit to a spacious top floor room. Very comfortable, with pretty view.

The hotel is extremely nice. I believe the staff said it was two years old. It is very comfortable and modern. Very near the the old city center. We had a terrific time visiting Feiburg and starting in this fine hotel.

Very nice hotel near the forest and old city
We had a room on the 5th floor with skylight windows looking onto the Black Forest and very near the old city. Lovely walks on the hillsides + in the old city. Very good shopping also. We loved our room and the staff were pleasant throughout the hotel. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel
Hotel in quiet neighborhood just 3 minutes walk from the old city center. About a 15 minute walk (pulling suitcases) from the train station. The staff was excellent. The hotel itself was very chic and the rooms well appointed and clean. We received a welcome drink in the bar. They offered a good breakfast (included) and a very nice outdoor bar/sitting area with heaters and blankets. Our group of seven enjoyed the whole experience.

Great location in Freiburg.
The hotel is situated close to the city center and accessible to all the local sights. The room was comfortable, but did have a fair amount of street noise, especially early in the morning from passing traffic.

Good location for shopping and sites in Freiburg
Very Nice Hotel in great location if you want to visit the city of Freiburg. Only 2 minutes walk to the main shopping area and 5 inutes from the Cathedral. Rooms are nice and modern and seems quite newly decorated. Only downside is lack of parking spaces and one of the staff was not very friendly (other staff were great).

OK for a quick business stay.
The room was very small but this is to be expected in Europe (we did later find out that larger rooms are available) Housekeeping was inconsistent which we brought to the Hotels attention and was mostly resolved. Although likely acceptable to most guests for a 1-2 night business stay, we would not return for a leisure stay.

Lovely well located small hotel
My daughter and I had two nights in this lovely small hotel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful. It was very warm and the outdoor bar was perfect for a cool drink or two.
