They safe were fantastic although all I heard was as if it was pre recorded. Rooms are a good size bathroom was more than big enough was powerful showers.

Nor what I expect from Mecure
No coat hangers or heating. Only an oil filled radiator stored in the wardrobe. The bathroom sink was blocked and didn’t drain & the TV was on the wall at a right angle to the bed, making it impossible to watch tv in bed. Very noisy, doors in the corridor banging shut through the night.

At the entrance of the property. There were substance abusers sitting on the stairs, which made me feel uncomfortable. As I was leaving the hotel, I saw homeless/ users and the entrance door of the property. I would not stay here again nor recommend.

Disappointing
Lound sound of music till past 23:30.could not sleep. No USB charging plug.kettle was rusty and couldn't make a hot drink. I was too tired and was after 10pm when I got to the hotel,so I didn't ask anything from receptionist. No phone in the room either.I think I pay too much money for one night. Disappointing, furnitures old,old carpet. But staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful with information.

Disappointing
The hotel is located in quite a busy street which was great. The parking was off site and got discount. The family room was very nice for the kids 9&7 as not much room. Window view was a roof. TV but small for the room. Just glad it was one night and we were late in arriving due to traffic and left early. The bathroom was small and not much space at all. Like I said just glad it was only 1 night and we just needed a bed.

Won’t be returning anytime soon
The parking is a 5 minute walk and with your clothes seems forever also the area the parking I. Is not very nice in the morning I had to walk my wife back to the car as she felt uneasy the room was tired and felt a bit dirty We were woken up by other guests at 2 in the morning not the hotels fault but we complained and the noise continued about 30 minutes later reception did nothing The breakfast was a lump kid grease

Close to Shops, but needs serious Cleaning
Ideal for shops and restaurants, that's it. Not really suitable for families with kids, too much noise from the numerous bars and restaurants around the block. Very roudy until 4am, so if your wanting to rest its not the ideal place. Room was good size with 2 double beds, iron, kettle, fridge and AC. Definitely could do with more rigorous cleaning schedules and regime, with a change of carpet or flooring. Parking is not on site but a 5 minute walk to the Civic Quarter, which is refundable. For those wanting a quick stop over on long drives it's OK, but not for holiday stay.

Fab all rounder
The hotel location is fantastic, if you need it for a night out, races and shopping. Close enough to the train station. Really friendly staff and great value for money. Only thing that lets it down is there was no full length mirror in the bedroom so had no where to do hair and check our outfits. Would definitely stay there again!

Room was definitely not as advertised online. Would not have stayed there if known the condition of the room beforehand. Extremely disappointed, felt mislead. Overpriced for the room we stayed in, very run down, old and extremely small for 2 people. Bathroom was slightly updated. Hotel is in a great location, right in the center of town. Reception staff were friendly and polite.

Should have refused room but with friends!
The room, we booked was not the room we had. At best, a standard shoe box, although absolutely not what was Booked or advertised! Disappointed!! First night away with wife for a long time and left very disappointed!

Not great!
Location in centre of town. Great if you have no car, not so great if you need to park up. Nearest car park 10 minutes walk with luggage ain’t great. Hotel looks tired. Stair carpets worn. Room was tiny. Bathroom shelf had no glass in it so useless. Shower tray filled up with water and took an age to drain. Hot water took about 5 minutes to get to the tap. Room provided with small oil filled heater to plug in for overnight. Needed to have that on as room was cold. View was a white stone wall, just as well it was dark when I arrived and left. Main bar was small and unwelcoming. The fridge was out of action so no drinks available other than choice of two draught - fosters and cider I think. I went over the road to a small Turkish cafe-bar for a drink which was more comfortable than the hotel bar. Overall I wasn’t impressed considering it’s a MERCURE! Probably one of their worst!

Was forced to pay an additional £50 upon arrival as they claimed the booking hadn't been sent through. Did give a free glass of red wine but the check in took well over 45 minutes.
