The room itself was nice. On the negative side, it overlook a mosque. Every 2 hours starting at 5:00am, loud singing was broadcast. As a first time visiting in Thailand, this was not nice. Also the room was all the way to the back with no nice views. First impression are important. This was negative for me. Beautifully decorated for Christmas! They even had a welcome night for guests with champagne, canapés and an invitation to participate in making the largest fruit cake ever! ( not sure when it will be baked - probably marinating in many types of alcohol until Christmas) Nice clean rooms; (the bed was a bit firm but I’m sure if we had asked they would have accommodated with a layer softer); we had a beautiful pool view. The staff was amazing especially Vrugo who seemed to be everywhere! Always smiling, making sure everybody was happy and taken care of. Also Justine - he greeted us every morning at breakfast with a genuine smile and interest in accommodating whatever we needed! I didn’t catch her name but there was a woman staff member at the beach bar/fire show who took exceptional care of my husband and I - she seated us in front and center seats and made us feel very special for the entire evening! (celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary). The beach is across a very busy street; although the hotel provided a nice staff member with a flag at the crosswalk making it safe to cross. The lush landscape and outside pathway lighting was beautiful!"
