During our stay, through no fault of anyone, a leak developed in the second bathroom and when extensive repairs were needed, Franke management moved us to a different unit to finish out the second half of our vacation. This property was exactly what we were looking for on our trip to South Padre and exceeded our expectations. It was in a great location with a exceptional balcony that had an amazing direct view of the cost (better then expressed in the photos). The condo was very nice, clean, and well represented by the photos. The grounds, walkways, and pools were clean and very well maintained by the HOA staff. I would say if you are someone looking for a property with an ultra modern feel, the best decor, no blemishes what so ever this is not the property for you. The beach area was easy to get to, parking was fine, the security guards were nice, the pools were clean, and the condo had all the necessities. I would have given this 4.5 stars for a couple of reasons. At first, there was confusion on the booking. We were initially told we would have to pick a different property, but after some emails, the extremely nice property team contacted me and we worked it out. In addition, the water in the condo was pretty gross for the first couple of days. We weren't prepared for the "rotten egg" smell. After doing some research online, and talking to a local resident, we found out this can be a problem in South Padre in the warmer months because of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) naturally occurring in the system. It appears this can build up even more within a hot water heater that has not been used in a while. We did not contact the property management team as we figured there wasn't much they could do.
