Work on the new roof is finishing at the end of May and at that time we will install a new air conditioning system with a new mini split ac to keep the upstairs bedroom cool and comfortable during the hottest south Texas days. In addition, check out the new children's SPLASH PAD just outside our door. It is great for parents too, because you can sit in the jacuzzi while the kids play. Like all children's activities, you absolutly MUST be present while the kids play because the jacuzzi is 4 feet deep. We are committed to offering a reasonably priced vacation for families, because with four children of our own, we know how hard it can be to get away. Three spacious bedrooms, each with their own full bath, and a distribution that allows larger groups privacy and shared space, it is an ideal place to reconnect with the people who are important in our lives. The two downstairs bedrooms have two queen-sized beds and the upstairs bedroom has a king-sized bed, so ten people can sleep comfortably. Each bedroom also has a TV. Eat in or eat out- the full service kitchen is stocked with what you need to feed the whole crew. Enjoy barbecuing on the infrared grill on the balcony while you take in the Gulf view. The dining area seats six and has additional seating for three along the bar. The large flat-screen TV in the living room with an expanded cable package ensures you won't miss any plays on game day. Villa Bonita has lots of extras to make your stay more enjoyable like a washer/dryer in the unit, a cooler with wheels, beach chairs, a full sunshade, sand toys and assorted beach-friendly toys like a kite, soccer ball, frisbee, etc. There are three balconies that face the beach and the pool with some outdoor seating. One thing to be aware of when you come to Villa Bonita is that the spacious units like ours are located on the third floor, which is an easy walk up with low wooden stairs. You won't have far to walk, though because our condo is right next to the children's fenced play area, with a large playscape, and plenty of room to kick around a soccer ball or play frisbee. There is ample parking right in front of our condo, so it is easy to load and unload all the important vacation stuff! Villa Bonita looks out to the new pool and jacuzzi but is situated in a way that is also very private. One unique feature of Bahia Mar, the property where we are located, is that it has a large deck that runs along the beachfront with comfy sofas and deck chairs, which are perfect for watching the sunrise or the waves roll in. Villa Bonita is about 200 feet from the beach, so it is easy to enjoy everything this newly renovated property has to offer. Please, no renters under age 25\. We are are not a spring break property for college students. This property is registered with the City of South Padre Island. Spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. Loved that the property had a beach wagon, chairs and a cooler bag to take to and from the beach! There was also a nice boogie board and some other pool floats. As an added bonus, there are nets for crab hunting, which my boys love!As other reviews have stated, there is some wear and tear on some kitchen cabinets, etc. However, my opinion is that the primary function of a beach condo is to be a comfortable and relaxing place, with easy access to the beach and pool. Condo was as described, check in at gate easy, pretty quick. Comfortable, fit all of us without any difficulty. It was clean, although sand is a factor and seems to get tracked in even if you have just come from the parking area. All the appliances worked. Note: Coffee pot is drip not Keurig. There was enough dish soap, dishwasher pods but just enough, not any extra. Same with garbage bags, we used them all. There's dishtowels but no pot holders, used dry dishtowels with out incident. Plenty of plates, cups, mugs and plastic ones for pool. Good pots and pans, but not a pot big enough to boil pasta, that might be something to consider adding. The beds & pillows were comfortable. The mini split in the top bedroom worked great keeping it cool & comfortable. The balconies were really nice but no chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Had to move stools out there which isn't as comfortable to enjoy cup of coffee.As noted in other reviews it needs updating - paint, fixtures etc but, served our family well, we were comfortable & pet friendly is MUCH appreciated. Porthole windows in 2 of the bedrooms were filled with a pillow which made the downstairs back bedroom really dark because it's the only window in that room. NOTE: parking is included for 2 cars, extra car was 80\. Would have been nice to know. Beach shade, wagon, toys etc were GREAT! All in all would definitely stay again. ##### Mary S. Cabinets crooked on hinges in the kitchen, many things in disrepair, mold on ceiling in the living room, wind whistles through the door frame, etc. We choose this unit because of the access to the playground, however when we arrived they were turning the playground into a kiddy pool and it was still under construction! That would have been nice to know before we booked. We did love access to a few beach toys - that was much appreciated! ##### Hanna P. The beach was clean, the pools were never over crowded. We had 6 people in the condo and it was plenty spacious we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The beds were very comfortable. This one was subpar compared to the other ones. Dryer didn’t dry, fridge wasn’t cold enough and the unit had lots of outdated features: cabinets, cookware was rusty, and the grill was extremely dirty. Bathrooms were an issue, low water pressure. Great location and great view but I had a lot of problems. first, when arriving to the condo the floor was really dirty and the place was dusty. Then I went to brush my teeth, there was toothpaste around the sink from the last visitors. Also, some of the towels where really dirty and ripped. The microwave wasn’t working, it never got fixed or replaced. Then the shower knob on one of the shower stop working which cause our water to be turn off. We where without water for about 15hrs.
