The condo was very clean and property well maintained and secure. We had a couple small issues and called Franke Rental and they were always courteous and very helpful. The response time to fix the issues was beyond amazing. You can walk to basically everywhere you would need to go. Grocery store, etc. about a half mile away. October was a great time to visit South Padre as it was not crowded. We had a large part of the beach to ourselves and usually had the pool to ourselves as well. Pros: -The Edgewater is in a great location in that it's fairly quiet but you're really close to anything you'd want to do on South Padre. -The unit itself was spacious and well equipped. -The view from the balcony is great. -Parking was easy. Cons -The mattresses were old and weren't very comfortable. -The deck furniture was worn out and partially broken. -The carpet was stained in places. -Overall the unit felt a little dated. It could use a refresh (carpet, paint, mattresses/pillows, etc). -The unit also wasn't as clean as we'd have expected when we arrived. Some of the issues were probably due to the condo sitting vacant for a week or two before we arrived, but not all. Obviously you don't expect to have to reclean a place when you pay a cleaning fee. We contacted the owners and they did offer to have housekeeping come and do a touch up, but we had already corrected the issues by that point. Overall we had a great time in South Padre at the Edgewater, and we'd stay there again!
