This stylish lodge offers a quiet escape with wonderful views and a private hot tub — ideal for relaxing and recharging in nature. Entry leads into a light-filled, open-plan living space, with large glass doors framing the far-reaching countryside views. The sitting area is comfortably furnished and includes a sofa bed for additional guests. The modern kitchen is well-equipped and sits alongside a dining table and wood-burning stove, creating a warm and sociable space. There is one double bedroom, and a separate family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, toilet and basin. Outside, guests can enjoy a spacious private terrace complete with seating, BBQ, and hot tub — a perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the local area. Indoor Description The front door opens into a light and airy open-plan living space, combining the kitchen, dining and sitting areas into one sociable layout. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle, with everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. The living area is furnished with a dining table and chairs, a comfortable seating area, a wood-burning stove, and a television. Doors open from the living space onto the private terrace, allowing easy access to the outdoor seating and countryside views. The lodge sleeps up to four guests, with one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the main living area. The bathroom includes a bath, separate walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Heating and electricity are included in the price of your stay. Bed linen and towels are provided for your convenience. Outdoor Description The property is accessed via a gravel driveway on the West Down Estate, with parking (?directly outside the lodge?). The lodge stands in a peaceful position with open countryside surrounding it, offering a real sense of space and seclusion. From the living area, a door opens onto a private terrace with outdoor seating, a BBQ area, and a hot tub — perfect for making the most of the fresh air and far-reaching rural views. Although tucked away in a tranquil spot, the lodge is just a short drive from the market town of South Molton (approx. 3 miles), where you’ll find a variety of shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants, as well as easy access to Exmoor and the North Devon coast. Parking There is enough room for two cars to park at the bottom of the steps leading up to the lodge Pets Description Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome for £25 per dog Please don’t let your dog on the furniture. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. Dogs must not be left alone in the property. Restricted mobility This property has multiple steps leading up to it and is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users or limited mobility. The region South Molton is a small town sitting just outside the boundary of Exmoor National Park, with good access from the A361 link road. Dating back to Saxon times, this classic British market town is formed around a pretty central square with impressive historic buildings to either side. Originally, it was an important centre of the UK’s wool trade and textile trade, and still has a local market on Thursday and a farmers market on Saturday. Barnstaple, North Devon’s main market town, with its famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row – excellent for both meat and locally caught fish, is within easy reach and offers a range of shopping facilities and other activities. This area provides a great base for walking, cycling and exploring. There are miles of walking routes and many pretty villages to sightsee throughout North Devon and Exmoor. There are also opportunities to ride, to play golf or to visit a number of outstanding gardens such as those at Marwood, Castle Hill Estate and RHS Rosemoor. The famous Tarr Steps, The Chains - a wonderful place for the experienced walker - the Tarka Trail, the North Devon coastal path. The north coast from Minehead through Porlock and Lynton to Woody Bay and the Valley of the Rocks are some of the most stunning scenery in Britain boasting the highest cliffs. The beaches at Saunton and Croyde are not far away (approx 40-45 mins by car).Security Deposit Information A £200.00 security deposit is required.
