I grew up in this neighborhood and I know this house is perfectly located for anyone who wants access to hiking, biking, paddling, golf, and basic amenities like the grocery store, restaurants, and the park without having to fight weekend traffic. I love the view of Mt. Tallac, proximity to Washoe Meadows State Park, and Tahoe Paradise Park. We bring our e-bikes and take advantage of the bike path network to get where we need to go. The house is beautiful and well appointed inside. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add screens on the rear sliders so guests can let the cool evening air in without also letting in mosquitoes in the spring. ##### Holly T. Reviewer Comments: We booked Duckhook for early 2024 and an epic winter storm was expected to hit on the day of check. We were given the option to check in a day early (for a discounted price) so we could get there safely. This is our second time at Duckhook and it was amazing as we expected. The open field in the backyard was perfect for the kids to play in the snow and the house was plenty big for 2 families. The garage was tight to park 2 SUVs but we made it fit by climbing out of the trunk:) the property was well maintained throughout the snow storm and path ways were cleared and plowed. ##### Tom J. The back deck was a comfortable place to have morning coffee or evening dinner. The location was convenient to South Lake Tahoe without being in all the congestion. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two couples spent 5 days at this lovely home. It is well-situated, with nearby stores and restaurants. Located on a golf course, it has a lovely view and was quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen is very well-equipped, right down to 2 types of cheese graters! Two things of note are that it is a short distance from the driveway parking to the front door, so unloading and carrying stuff from the car to the house is a bit of a work-out, so that could be an issue for some. Also, the kitchen table is interesting with the fold-in seats, but they are not comfortable and we tripped several times on the bases of the table. One night the neighbor kids were running around screaming until about 11pm. Luckily they finally went inside.
