The house and property are lovely. Everything was exactly as in the description and Deb was a superb hostess. She was responsive and very helpful in advance of our visit with dining suggestions. You could easily get to grocery stores and local places we've loved for years, or trot down to Burlington or Waterbury. The water was rare as it's a silt bottom (rather than rocks), and very shallow. Great for little kids, or if you want to walk far out and watch the sunset. The kayaks were wonderful to use to go along the coast on calm mornings. The location in South Hero is tranquil and also still close to any of the wonderful local amenities and attractions that this part of the island offers. The water was delicious and we took full advantage of it - swimming, using the kayak and paddle board. As has been said in other reviews - beautiful sunsets, and very very peaceful. About the cottage - it is a camp cottage so anyone wanting thick carpeting and sound proof rooms should look elsewhere. This is what we loved about it! And anything you might need is EXACTLY placed where and when it occurs to you that you need it. Such a perfect use of space and efficiency. Would love to go back! ##### Maria S. The cozy feel of a cottage, the nightly sunsets, relaxing by the fire, exploring the lake on the kayaks, and the beautiful green grass to squish under your feet, sitting on the porch reading a book in one of the rocking chairs, or taking a nap on the nearby hammock, sums it up nicely! Our son loved the rooftop porch and sleep there every night! It was their own "space" in the house. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked well with pots/pans and dishes for a house that size. The pictures do not do the home justice in terms of size. The kitchen is more open than was expected, which was great, especially with a large group of people. Although there is only one bath with a shower it worked out pretty well since it was nice and big. Only a couple of things that we noticed. The smell of sulfur in the water was very strong in this home, it would have been good to have known that prior. They do provide lots of bottled water though, this was useful for cooking and drinking. The house is also all done with shiplap with is amazing and beautiful!!! That is the charm and character we were looking for. We absolutely love that style, but it does make for a not so quiet house when walking around :). Just good to know! ##### sara m. We loved the views of the lake and the Adirondacks, from the yard and bedroom windows. Deb and Andy have everything together for you to have a fantastic time. Kayak, paddleboards, cornhole, fireplace, firepit. And much more. We loved that it's an easy bike ride to South Hero and the Snow Farm Vineyard. Not to mention the causeway to Burlington. Check out the trail that runs from Tracy Road down to White's Beach. The Blue Paddle was a fantastic place for dinner, and we went to McKee's Pub 3 times. Fun! I can't imagine a better place to explore Grand Isle. Did I mention that the sailing in our Hobie Cat was wonderful?
