Private idyllic paradise
We splurged on a 1 bedroom 2 room 2 full bath suite with private plunge pool overlooking a cliff with the crashing pacific ocean beneath. The Hotel may have appeared rustic at first with the thatched roof reception area, but the moment we walked in and were introduced to Jorge's "office"--the panoramic open air pacific view reception theater, and were handed the perfectly refreshing agua de fresa, we new we were in Four Seasons territory. Service was impeccable and ever pleasing from the relaxing couch based check in pampering, to the heartfelt sad departure, always exceeding most of out previous Four Seasons experiences to date. We also chose a very quiet time of year--there are facilities for kids, but almost none in sight. Perfect weather. 2-3 times a day maid/room cleaning service. Tons of free (pre-paid..) bottled water.
Most amenities on the beach are included, and there is a never ending variety of choices of beachside accomodations-suspended bed couches, "pods" hung from the cliff above, all sorts of lounges chairs, umbrellas, all with immediate food, drink, sunglass cleaning service, and beachside activities.
Beautiful restaurant venues, great seafood, and a bar every 50 feet for those who are nervous about having the necessities. Tip: Wine is expensive on the lists, largely due to import tax-if you're a collector or picky you can pack in your own like we did --corkage is 35 per bottle in restaurants and free in your room with room service. Golf is pricey.
