This three story oceanfront home, with beach access about four blocks south, screams rustic charm and comfort. With decorations ranging from whimsical to authentic pieces of naval sailing and nautical history, this home is perfect for the sea lover in you. This large five bedroom, three bath home with a Crow's Nest tower can accommodate up to 10 of your guests. Two of the bathrooms offer walk-in showers while the other is a tub and shower combination. The downstairs' bathroom now offers an ADA accessible toilet and sink. You can now enter the home through an original wooden ships door. The galley (kitchen) is the perfect size for cooking up hardy family meals or a special holiday feast. The dining table is large enough to seat all 10 people in your party. The great room boasts a massive rock style wood burning fireplace and a bank of oceanfront windows. It's the perfect area to relax and unwind in after a long day of traveling. Out back is a very large deck, just as you would find on a ship. The Captain's Quarters, or primary bedroom, has a California king bed, a sliding glass door with access to the deck, and its' own wood burning fireplace. The Chart Room has a queen bed. Follow the circular stairs to the loft where gorgeous views of the Pacific will leave you breathless and never wanting to leave. Sit up here with a good book, a board game, or just let your mind wander. The loft also offers a futon for guest use. Upstairs, you will find charming window seats and plenty of space for more family fun. You will also find the Crew's Quarters with authentic naval ship bunks and a twin bed with a twin trundle that sleeps up to four guests. The First Mate's Quarters has a queen and twin bed. The Crow's Nest is the tower of this huge vacation rental and is behind a lockable door in the loft, up a narrow flight of rustic stairs, with a queen bed and views you simply can't get enough of. It was more than spacious for 10 people, and the accommodations were perfectly fine. This house probably is not known for being spotlessly clean, or modern as it is older. But the history and charm absolutely makes up for it. This house would be hard for young kids as it has stairs, and a balcony that a small child could slip through. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Well maintained but rugged trail down to the beach was worth navigating; it was like walking through a forested tunnel. The home was spacious and had delightful, thoughtful touches throughout. Our only problem that we had was immediately solved by a phone call to Oregon Beach Vacation. We had been given an incorrect key code and they provided us the correct code. The home is close to South Beach Park and Newport. ##### AMY B. Comfortable beds, great view of the ocean, very clean and cozy. Bring your own bbq the one there is a rust bucket. No cell phone service so stuck with wifi which was ok. I was hoping for beach access but there is non and wanted somewhere to go so I could bring a 19ft boat but boats aren't allowed and even if someone did it's just not a good idea the way the driveway is configured. Oddly the last night we were there the water turned off after midnight so we had no use of utilities for any cleaning. Took awhile to reach someone on the phone but she was real nice about it. The kids loved the place and would like to go back. Except for a few hiccups I enjoyed the place and would rent it again. ##### Darrell R. It was clean and tidy and had fun things to do for the kids. The View was amazing and the ocean was very close. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. Very charming with a lot of room for the family to stretch out and an awesome view. Kitchen was fully stocked and there was plenty of fire wood. We had a fire every night and almost every morning. It was amazing. The rooms were filled with interesting nick nacks. The kids really enjoyed the stay. I would definitely stay here again. ##### Mark A.
