"Such a beautiful gem! The manager was incredibly attentive and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were cosy, and the food was absolutely amazing- one of the main reasons we chose this place, and it truly lived up to our expectations. Just a small heads-up: the rooms didn’t come with toiletries, so make sure to bring your own. Would definitely recommend! So glad we stayed here. "

"Great hotel in a beautiful location. We only stayed one night, but could have stayed longer. The pools looked fantastic and well cleaned. We had an excellent meal, and then played pool on the table next to the bar! The hotel is trying hard to be eco, and we had a very interesting bathroom surrounded by plants in the shower, and an open air roof - covered by mesh to stop anything nasty getting in! We watched a fantastic sunset whilst drinking cocktails. Very memorable. Staff were lovely."

"Great location, very close to Minneriya Safari. Has a nice jungle vibe, surrounded by monkeys and Toucans. The accommodation and food is decent. We booked four people, but the staff tried to claim that we only get 3 beds. It was quickly resolved and they added an extra bed to the room. "

"I’m sure this review will contradict those previous, but basically I did not like this place straight from arrival. The manager/desk man was condescending, we had to wait for our room, the room was basic in the extreme, poor quality bedding and towels, an ancient bed and threadbare mattress. The room had thin walls with a lot of noise from next door. Ordering food had a 45 min delay, although the (very basic) eating area was deserted. We did not stay at this hotel, we moved elsewhere locally,...

"I had been looking forward to stay in this place for quite some time but my experience and expectations was so different. The atmosphere of the location is fantastic. The hotel is very old. Had a bad smell in the room which was so unpleasant and uncomfortable to breathe in. Not suitable for asthma and allergy sufferers. Air conditioner was not working properly. "We felt instantly relaxed and welcomed upon arrival. The grounds and pool are beautiful. Room was spacious and immaculate, we loved the variety of loose leaf teas in our room and delicious homemade biscuits that were replenished. The staff were the most attentive in our whole time in Sri Lanka. Things like coming with umbrellas on arrival to our car so we didn’t get wet, guiding us with a light to and from the dining area to our room each night, speaking to us about our travels and offering to be of service anytime we needed to enjoy our stay. Food was good, particularly the Sri Lankan dishes. Wine cannot be bought by the glass but if you get a bottle they will keep for the next night if unfinished which is a nice touch. We had such a great time on the couple of tours that we booked through the hotel. Highly recommend this boutique to unwind from busy activities during the day, it has a lovely private and boutique atmosphere. We would stay again. "

"Warm, friendly staff - this hotel had a beautifully designed main building where we enjoyed al fresco eating from the varied and superbly cooked/arranged buffet. After dinner we enjoyed the ping pong and pool table which helped entertain our family. The swimming pool was sublime. The gardens, pathways and trees leading down to the beach were well kept and helped support a relaxing atmosphere. The bedrooms had everything we needed as well as incredibly comfortable beds - quiet, with the added bonus of a balcony. We loved our family holiday! The only thing we thought needed improving was the bar. It was not a relaxing place to sit and had uncomfortable chairs. If there had been a place to chill out comfortably with ambient music where we could purchase drinks and icecream - that would have been ideal. Hopefully, this could be incorporated into the rebuild of the beach bar. "

"Beautiful property with friendly and helpful staff. The food is delicious with options for all visitors. Gym had good equipment and the pool and grounds are lovely. My only suggestion would be to have an iron in all rooms it would have been helpful with my wrinkled dresses."
