Much better than staying at a hotel. We were in town for our Marine's graduation. We could all sit in the screened in porch or living room and relax and chat. The views from the dock were nice and you always saw something interesting. Lots of restaurants ten minutes away. There were four of us plus our Marine who lived five minutes away. The pictures of the dock on the listing must be pretty old because so is the dock. It's warped and has lots of splinters and peeling paint. The home is super cute; retro feel with modern amenities. The house is stocked with anything you might need, even KCups and snacks.The dock with kayaks is great. An open space where we felt comfortable letting our teen go out and explore by himself (where we could see). Lots of little crabs everywhere. Ospreys, herons and lots of others I couldn’t identify. The front porch is screened in with string lights for nighttime. Front yard is fenced so our pups could run free.About 20 minutes from everything in Sneads Ferry and about 30 minutes to Surf City. Close enough to everything but you feel totally secluded. The best part is the kayaks (equipment good for 2 people), since you can kayak out straight into the sound to a beautiful little island. We were really touched by the note pointing out an osprey nest within view of the house! It's not far from groceries and the beach (well, a beach with paid parking). It's got all you need and we had no trouble getting in and out, even though we arrived late at night. Just follow the instructions to go down the right driveway and, if you go for a walk, walk toward the paved road. Clean and enjoyable overall, with easy communication if you need it. ##### Leigh L. The porches are lovely, the kayaks and launching dock easy to use in a beautiful part of the sound with a nearby tiny island to visit. You're not a long drive from a beach. If you take walks, head toward the road, not further back, which turns into private property. It was a wonderful, peaceful visit. ##### Leigh L. Very clean, kayaks and tubing was so fun and relaxing. The house had everything! From board games, diapers, hygiene products to breakfast, lunch and at least 1 dinner! Not much had to be bought. With a small boat or kayak the dock was usable for mooring, but not so much with a larger boat (17’ ). Low tide had little water.
