Located 2 hrs from NYC in the Catskills (one of Travel+Leisure’s 50 Best Places), Smallwood is a destination in itself: walk along the lake, waterfall or hike the forest trails. Nearby is dining & shopping in Livingston Manor, Callicoon & Narrowsburg, skiing/tubing at Holiday Mountain, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts & Kartrite Waterpark We live in NYC, but are available via call or text and happy to answer your questions or resolve any issues that arise. A leisurely walk around the lake takes about 40 minutes, offering a perfect way to soak in the natural beauty of the area. The surrounding Catskills region is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, offering endless activities year-round. Enjoy swimming, hiking, canoeing, boating, tubing, rafting, fishing, cycling, and horseback riding in the warmer months, while winter brings opportunities for snow tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, Smallwood is the perfect retreat. We thought this was going to be a nice lakeside getaway - that wasn't the case. The listing makes it look like its on the water but that wasn't even the worst part. Upon arrival which was 15 mins after check in time, the cleaning crew was still there. We then return an hour later and the unit reeked of bleach which gave us a headache. On the second day of our stay, the power went out for 8 hours and then went out again at night and it was too cold to sleep. All the owner wanted to do was compensate $50 for all of these issues given was ridiculous given the amenities they listed werent able to be used for the entire day. Understand these things are out of their control but given how long the outage was for, the host should have been more reasonable with their compensation. ##### Anisha D.
