Sitting on the Edge of a Beautiful World!

"My husband and I stayed in this wonderful home with one of our best friends. We wanted a long weekend of hiking, relaxing, reading, and most generally, re-energizing. At least four elements put this property at the top of our favorite stays…the views from every room are spectacular! We are fortunate enough to have stayed in many high-end rental homes/cabins/hotels and this property offers one of the best views of our gorgeous Big Sur coastline. I can’t say enough about it!! The owners, Dave and Nicole responded clearly and quickly to our questions, which allows the pre-planning to run so smoothly. Next, this home is set up in a thoughtful and detailed manner (i.e. a note posted above the radiant heat thermostat to explain its operation) which was delightful to encounter each day of our stay! And perhaps I’m saving the best for last…The caretakers of the property Melissa annd Daniel are sweet, competent, never intrusive, and available to answer any questions. The property is fairly isolated and off the grid, so we were reassured knowing they were fairly close, should we need them…but we didn’t!I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to experience a slice of Big Sur heaven!"

Idyllic location but far from Monterey

"The River House is as advertised, well appointed, clean, comfortable beds, peaceful with a hot tube and the sound of a river which you can walk down too. It was much further away in terms of time than I expected. Although not too far in terms of distance, the road to the house is VERY twisty, and since we were in a rental car, took it slowly, easily taking an hour or more to and from Monterey. That was a big chunk of the day. "

The absolute nicest house we have ever stayed at!!

"This is an above and beyond home. Every detail is meticulous, not ostentatious but lovely, warm and inviting. The bed was the most comfortable ever, the kitchen was insanely equipped with everything you could possibly imagine, the grounds were immaculate, the hot tub was wonderful and it was one big playground for kids to explore and revel in! And the hosts could not have been nicer and more communicative and accommodating! This is definitely a place I want to come back to again and again! I can't say enough god things! I just wish there were enough beds to come back with friends because it's so spacious (I understand that's a Carmel thing, not the host choice.)"
