There are four rooms here all with this breathtaking view made all the more gorgeous as the sun travels overhead and changes the color of the world below. At night, the stars are so vibrant that they can be seen while laying in bed. In the evening, the sunset is such an explosion of color it paints the walls. But in the early morning hours as the sun rises, it climbs on the other side of the mountain and slowly, gently, spreads over the valley floor. On this particular morning, it was below freezing and fog spread out through the valley, looking like a white ocean with waves that billowed and changed. The sun slowly burned away the fog, exposing a frost-covered land, and for a moment it felt like we were viewing the depths of a snowflake. If you go to Skyland Resort in Shenandoah, spend the extra bucks for a good room with a view. Notre chambre double avec deux lits queen était spacieuse, propre et très confortable. Elle disposait de tout le nécessaire : TV, Wi-Fi, machine à café, et surtout une superbe terrasse avec une vue à couper le souffle sur les montagnes de Shenandoah : un vrai bonheur au lever comme au coucher du soleil. Le personnel a été extrêmement accueillant et serviable tout au long du séjour, ce qui a rendu l’expérience encore plus agréable. L’hôtel est idéalement situé au cœur du parc, parfait pour rayonner sur Skyline Drive et profiter des randonnées sans passer trop de temps en voiture. Sur place, tout est prévu pour un séjour pratique et agréable : restaurant, bar, boutique, machine à glace, parking gratuit… (Seul petit point à noter : il n’y a pas de piscine, mais franchement, on ne vient pas ici pour ça !). Nous recommandons chaudement Skyland à tous ceux qui veulent profiter pleinement de Shenandoah NP dans un cadre naturel, calme et authentique. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter !"
