A listed building providing facilities for functions. Some bedrooms are in the original building with old beams etc. Other bedrooms are located in adjoining annexe building. We had a mini suite which was spacious, had a large double bed, sofa, table with 2 arm chairs. Ensuite walk in shower, wc etc. Lighting was a bit gloomy but the room was very comfortable. Good dining options, buffet breakfast was very good with hit and cold choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. Free parking in the hotel grounds. Gardens were pleasantly maintained.

Bar area smells like sewage. No hot water from shower. Pee on toilet rim. I wouldn’t stay here again. Also no clean tables at breakfast

The staff are this hotels biggest asset. Everyone we came into contact with, in every deoartment, were all helpful, smilling, willing, hearing and reactive instantly when an issue was raised. I.e. no USB ports, they charged our phone while we had breakfast. A hairdryer dud not work, a replacement was delivered in minutes. Food was delicious. The breakfast is excellent value for money, all you can eat, hot cold buffet. Hot drinks and toast brought to your table. Ideal link to motorways in the area. The great hall is amazing. Down side is minor. The aporoach to this 1790 building is through an industrial estate. Nit tgat you notice noise etc once in the building.

It’s a great hotel, but so noisy. The walls thin, so other guests talking could be heard & the water system so loud, constantly woken up through the night.I’m a best western member but won’t stay at this location again

Peaceful nights sleep.
Lovely and quiet. Easy to find,with lots of signs.Comfy bed,friendly staff. Only downside was the extractor fan in the bathroom not very efficient so took a long time for condensation to go after a shower. Would stay again if in the area.

Tidy room, a touch worn out. Shower hot and powerful. The overhead shower-head doesn't move, so my 6"4 height meant I had to crouch to have a shower. Minor thing! Staff very friendly. Didn't dine for breakfast or dinner so couldn't comment.

Hotel was fantastic, room was clean and comfortable. Only had one night so didn't get to dine or anything but all looked really nice. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was location in middle of an industrial area.

Summer strum stay July 2023
Couple of nights whilst visiting summer strum festival at nearby Rainford - brilliant weekend and very comfortable place to stay . There was a wedding at the hotel - this didn’t disturb us , enjoyed a meal in the restaurant first evening and time in the bar - staff good, very comfortable .

Lovely hotel although in strange location as it is in the middle of business park so there are no food & beverage outlets nearby. However the hotel has a reasonable restaurant. The room was decent size and comfortable.

Lovely to look at in older parts of the buildings. But due to their heating system you could not turn off heated towel rail in bathroom, so the room was always far to hot.

Lovely hotel boyh inside and its outside garden. Staff really excellent bar restaurant and reception. But oh dear the surrounding industrial units and approach to the hotel a total disaster- even with my satnav I took three circuits before i found the entrance. One inside the drive faultless.
