The hotel is conveniently located next to Maxwell food center and less than five minutes from China town with great shopping and hawker stalls. The hotel offers many amenities with such simple things as water and snack that other hotels often charge for.

The hotel is well located, next to a metro station and Chinatown. Be warned - the executive room is really small . We couldn't lay both open suitcases on the floor. If you have a room on the street side, take ear plugs. Staff were charming and helpful though.

I’d rather not share how great this place is and I’d like to keep it a secret! Lovely staff. Free minibar. Welcome bottle of wine, Beautiful and spotless room in a gorgeous building moments from Chinatown, Maxwell Hawker Centre, The MRT and so central. Wonderful.

Great location. Great staff, hotel is in good condition. Can hear some young people being loud late night sometimes but it is in Chinatown with lots of bars nearby. The tradeoff is you get amazing location, can walk to Maxwell Food Center in 1 min, transit is nearby and a great hotel with excellent amenities

We loved this property and location! Great food at the hawker center one block away and metro also one block made it very easy to get around. The staff was friendly. The rooftop bar was a nice place to enjoy the evening. The room was plush and quiet. The pictures do it justice. It was well worth the value and I would recommend it!

Overall we were very happy with the hotel and the service. However, they should review their price policy. Singapore is an expensive place but when we went to their rooftop bar and the food we ordered was served we were not sure if we should laugh or cry…We order „Truffle Oil Parmesan Fries“ (S$ 23) and a „cold cut platter“ (S$ 38)….Well…there was absolutely no sign or even taste of truffles in the fries; luckily the portion was so small that we survived this salt shock….But the cold cut platter was the (negative) highlight….Not only that we didn’t get some bread (okay, our bad … wasn’t mentioned on the menu - but hey….cold cut without bread?…) we got a sloppy arranged small platter with 3-4 (each) thin pieces of salami, ham, mortadella and a slightly larger than a fingernail pice of cheese….Was it least fresh? - Well not sure as it looked and tasted defrosted. So we spent S$ 61 for really crappy food…. :-(. PS: The drinks are also not cheap but still in an acceptable price range.

Hotel staff were exceptional, great service all around! The hotel is located in a very convenient spot. Very accessible to many subway lines. A lot of dining options within short walking distance. The hotel provided free bottled water and snacks/fruits, self served in the lobby which we really appreciated. They also provided a range of toiletries. Towels and sheets were very clean. Only downside is, the hotel itself seems to be very old. Carpet, and furnitures in the room such as desk, chairs, fridge etc needs to be changed. Carpets were very stained and walls are getting very old.

Check in was excellent. We arrived very early due to flight times and our luggage was stored until our room was ready , which was well before the normal check in time. The room was clean and comfortable. A little on the small size but was adequate for the time we stayed. The area around the hotel provided plenty places to eat as in China town. Marina Bay is close enough to walk although the metro is close to hotel. At check out, our cases were stored and a taxi ordered for us later in the day to return to airport. A big thank you to the staff , as the customer care was excellent.

Contacted the Hotel while on our Cruise and got quick and informative replies. We wanted to know about luggage storage and early check in. When we arrived, we were told that there was a room available and were able to check in early. We were also given an upgraded room which was unexpected, but much appreciated.

The room we had was small but adequate. We were told that because it is an old building the rooms vary in size. Excellent location. We were able to walk to much of what we wanted to see. There is a subway station down the street for further trips

Great location and hotel.
Lovely stay in the heart of Singapore. Only complaint was we couldnt use the bar aa it had been hired out for a private function, personally i think hotel guests should always have a bit of the bar to go to as this waa a factor that made us choose the hotel. Disappointing.

The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown. The closest MRT station is Maxwell which is perfectly situated opposite the Hotel, making it super easy to get anywhere you want in Singapore. The staff are amazing and the rooms comfortable and well equipped. The complimentary mini bar was a lovely touch, so you can relax after a long day. The roof top bar is also lovely with an Italian restaurant. The hotel is perfectly located in Chinatown and close to lots of bars and restaurants. Had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel 12 years ago and it was wonderful. Now it is very tired and disappointing. Nothing has been refreshed. Rooftop bar used to be wonderful. Now very sad.

Wonderful stay. The staff were so helpful, the minibar was free and well stocked (with soft drinks and tiger beer) and there was a snack table available all day at reception. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You can leave your luggage for the day, and they'll give you a map and recommendations. The bed was so comfy too, and the shower was a little dated but had good water pressure and temps. A TV with a couple of English speaking channels other than CNN (including HBO). The hotel is also really conveniently located next to/in Chinatown and near a metro station. There's also a cute little rooftop bar!

The Scarlet.. a great oasis in Singapore
Scarlet amazed me with it’s location to Club Street and Maxwell SMRT, its decor is stunning , the staff soo friendly and accommodating. The rooms are not huge, but big enough with such comfortable bedding and great finishes. Such a fabulous place to stay.

Great location. Close to restaurants, cafe's, bakery and within minutes walking distance to a number of MRTs. Staff very helpful. Can be a little noisy due to proximity of nightlife.

Fantastic location, near food markets, Chinatown and train. Great amenities, rooftop bar, complimentary minibar. Slightly dirty and rough finish to the room. But, overall, I would stay there again!

Hotel room was clean and comfortable, location is close to the Gardens by the Bay, good food and 15 minutes by car to Sentosa island. Really liked our stay, will definitely come back. Special thanks to Freddie for being very kind and professional!

Great staff at reception
Staff at reception are very helpful and friendly. I will always associated Scarlet hotel with the best staff I have met in all my hotels that I stayed. One example, we were getting our luggage to the waiting taxi. One of staff (a lady) was returning to the hotel (from break) saw us and immediately help us with our big luggage. It was a pleasant surprise!
