The property was exactly as listed with so many little touches that made it special. Communication was great and we were close to downtown shops and the casino. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area.
We loved staying at this house for SEMO family weekend! It was super clean and had everything we needed and more 😊 we will definitely try to stay here again!
When looking for a VRBO for our daughter's college visit, we knew the perfect place to stay! This is our second stay at Serenity South and it was just as incredible as the first visit. Clean, inviting and cozy. Thanks Jo for another beautiful stay.
We had a wonderful time at Serenity South! The house is quiet and very clean, in walking distance of fantastic shops and fun places to eat. We look forward to returning next year!
We stayed at Serenity South instead of a hotel for family weekend. We were able to have our daughter and her friends over for dinner which we could never do in a hotel! There are great views from upstairs.
This was the second year in a row that we have stayed here. This is a beautiful home to stay in. I love the charm and detail of the house. We stay here after a Christmas party and walk downtown so it’s definitely located in a convenient spot. I will be booking again for next year Great communication with Jo and if there’s any questions I need, Jo is very quick to respond. Thank you for making our stay good!
Lovely house, well maintained and stocked. Nice bed linens and towels. Lots of thoughtful features like a coffee and tea station upstairs with the bedrooms. The host even left fresh cookies for us in the kitchen. Beautiful gardens with cut flowers. Fantastic location just blocks from shopping, restaurants and bars. Highly recommend.
Here for a volleyball tournament. Had 3 short days to enjoy this beautiful home. Just not long enough. Has everything u need and more. Jo is a lovely host. So quiet and peaceful.. most of all in a safe area. I plan to go back by summers end just so I can enjoy the home and walk to coffee shop and tour the old part of town. Just wonderful!
I have stayed at Serenity South three times in the last 5 months. It is perfectly located near downtown restaurants and the Old St. Vincent's church, and it is literally a 2 minute drive to SEMO's River Campus. We will be returning to Cape next month, but sadly, this property was already booked. It will always be my first choice, though.
I stayed at Jo’s place with my sister and father. We absolutely loved it!! The location was truly amazing and close to so many restaurants and shops. The setup was perfect for us with the 3 bedrooms and full bath upstairs and it was great to have the 1/2 bath off the living space. We didn’t cook while we were there but the kitchen was huge and seemed well stocked with dishes. Communication with our host was easy and she was very helpful. The house was gorgeous and had tons of historical details. Would love to stay here again!
This was our second Thanksgiving in Cape Girardeau at Serenity South. The property is very clean and has everything you need to prepare a Thanksgiving Day feast! Location is great! Had dinner at Ebb and Flow just down the street and won the trivia contest! Great restaurants and shopping very close to the property! The city issued a boil water alert due to a broken water main and Jo had bottled water to the property before we had time to get some ourselves! Thank you, Jo for another lovely trip to Cape!
We stayed at Serenity South as we visited the area for the total solar eclipse. The property was clean, comfortable, well maintained and furnished. When we booked it, we had no idea how convenient to downtown and the riverbank it actually was. We were within walking distance to the eclipse activities for the day. Jo was very attentive and responsive to any questions or needs we had. Check in and checkout instructions were very clear. Thank you for helping make our eclipse adventure absolutely perfect!
This house is so clean and has everything you need for your stay! Probably the MOST well thought out place we've ever stayed for our traveling needs and convenience. Beds are comfortable! BUT, light sleepers beware.. the railroad tracks are nearby (the trains run in the middle of the night) and the traffic near riverfront on a Saturday night was loud til early morning. You can hear every hot rod motorcycle or sports car with loud exhaust that approaches / speeds off from the nearby stop sign.
This is an older home (1920’s?) with so much charm. It’s exceptionally well cared for - the floors are clean and in excellent condition, the walls are clean, paint job is beautiful, etc. The air is clean (no smell of mold) bathroom fans work, etc! In short, one of the best maintained rentals we’ve stayed in. The beds are comfy. Oh - and the landscaping is also beautiful! It is winter - would love to see the gardens in the spring. Jo was easy to contact, check in was easy. The trains do run 1 or 2 times per night and are close and on Friday night there were some people having fun running their loud cars through town but otherwise it is quiet and peaceful. The walk to town is only a few blocks. We would definitely stay here again!
