Traditional materials typical of the area, sourced via accurate and detailed research, were used for the renovation. Located inside a large nature reserve, with many small and medium-sized woodland animals, it offers 7 finely-renovated flats to tourists, with views of Montalcino, Mount Amiata and the hills of Buonconvento and Siena. It is equipped throughout with quality, antique furniture, fitted with all modern comforts, with maximum level certification regarding safety and energy saving (underfloor heating via geothermal system, thermal insulation, pool). The location of the agriturismo is perfect. Minutes from charming Buonconvento, and less than 30 minutes from multiple other beautiful Tuscan hilltop towns like Montalcino(which can be seen from the house),Siena Pienza, Montepulciano, S.QuiricoThis makes relaxing day trips possible and still allows time to return to enjoy Podere Cunina. The grounds are well landscaped with natural herbs everywhere, which were used in the cooking class. We live in the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia lans, just South of Siena. They are the best typical tuscan landscapes! (world heritage under the protection of UNESCO with the Val d’Orcia) If you see our personal web site (surroundings) , you can see the main wonderful places that you can visit near our farmhouse. This area of Tuscany is intensely beautiful and within easy reach of many of the most significant cultural sites in Italy ( Siena is 30 minutes away, Florence 100 minutes, Assisi 2 hours, Rome: two and half, Pisa 2 h, the wonderful Maremma sea one and half). It’s very close to some of the major wine centers of Italy and, indeed, the world. Montalcino is on our doorstep and MOntepulciano less than an hour’s journey. We were very comfortable despite 40 Celsius every day. The accommodation was well-appointed and had everything we needed. The scenery was breathtaking! I found myself taking the same photo under different light—so very enchanting. If you are independent and don't need to be catered to, are willing to pick up groceries and cook, you will be happy. The pool is larger than one might find in other locations. House rules ensure guests respect the space, one another, etc. If you're looking for boisterous days by the pool, this is not the place. Being in a quiet place is super peaceful - a bit unsettling but incredibly wonderful if you are a city person! There was no traffic noise besides the occasional tractor doing its thing from a distance. Excellent wine region (Brunello is 10K away near Monticello) and lovely restaurants in Buonconvento and surrounding towns. The gardens are absolutely breathtaking - so many different plants. We arrived just as the sun was setting and what a sight to behold! Our hosts were just lovely and we had everything we needed in the apartment; kitchen with all the amenities and goodies. Large bedroom with a view of the countryside from the spacious and very comfortable bed. The pool was so inviting - we so potent our last day lounging here - just spectacular. Easy 15 minute drive to the stunning fortressed town of Montalcino with Brunello wine being the star - truly amazing!!! Siena half hour away - this is a lovely area to stay as you’re so central to so many medieval towns. Absolutely loved our stay and the most gracious hosts! Thank you 😊 ##### Jolanda K. Silvana and Giorgio could not have been more welcoming. The location cannot be beaten. Views for miles around including Montalcino in one direction, and even as far as Sienna in the opposite direction. The landscaping has been thoughtfully planned to give privacy but also to provide beautiful plants and trees that were teeming with birds and butterflies. The pool area is secluded but, again, has majestic views of the surrounding countryside. The property was the perfect location for exploring Tuscany and made for a very relaxed and enjoyable vacation. ##### Kate P. The hosts Silvana and Giorgio, were so welcoming and warm. We stayed in the Taxus building, which was plenty of space for us. The grounds are gorgeous, and the views are spectacular. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was one of the best parts of our whole trip. The hosts really want to make their guests happy. The hospitality, the view, the room, everything was so perfect that we were simply blown away. We are so happy that we took Marcello's cooking class too. We learned so much from him about the local cuisines and traditional Tuscany cooking. The best part was that we ate the food we cooked with his family after the class. We will never forget the beautiful time we had at Podere Cunina and can't wait to go back there. We highly recommend this place to anyone who dreams of Tuscany! ##### Meg F. Sylvani spent a lot of time with us when we arrived and made us feel so welcome! She and her husband have built a very special place for travelers to stay and enjoy Tuscany.
