Originally the coach house for the Hanley farm, this detached property was converted into a comfortable holiday home for up to 4 people in 2003\. It has just been refurbished to a high standard ready for you to enjoy. It is situated just 3 miles S.W. of the centre of the medieval town of Shrewsbury, in a rural position on the edge of the small village of Hook-A-Gate which incudes a local pub, The New Inn. There is easy access to major road networks, A5,A49,A458, and to the surrounding beautiful countryside with numerous public footpaths. Good road access to the South Shropshire hills, Ironbridge and Wales. Downstairs: \- a beamed living room with French windows opening out onto private patio \- well-equipped kitchen/ dining room \- separate WC Upstairs: \- Double bedroom with en-suite shower/WC \- beamed twin bedroom with washbasin \- shower room/WC Outside: \- private patio with table and chairs \- use of back lawn and summer house \- ample private parking for 2 cars immediately beside the cottage. Included with the property \-electricity \-gas \-superfast broadband \-welcome hamper \- tea and coffee \-condiments and sauces \-dishwasher tabs \-washing powder \-loo paper \-handwash, hair and body wash, and hand and body lotion \- 100% cotton bed linen \- towels The cottage is accessed from the road by a private tarmacked road and drive, right to the door. There is a regular bus service to Shrewsbury and a village pub about 10 minutes walk away. There is quick and easy access to main trunk roads and to Shropshire's areas of outstanding natural beauty. All our Covid-19 practices are based on current UK Government guidelines and are being constantly reviewed based on the latest advice. We use a fogging sanitiser, ventilate and thoroughly clean the cottage between changeovers . The Old Coach House and The Corn House comprise The Hanley Cottages. Both are converted farm buildings approximately 40 yards apart . They are detached and each has adjacent parking and therefore satisfy all self-isolation conditions. This cottage,set in a lovely location just a couple of miles from the centre of Shrewsbury, has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Nora and Simon are really attentive hosts who live next door, but are never intrusive. We enjoyed regular visits from the lovely old Labrador, Willow! Very clean, with comfy beds in both bedrooms. Kitchen is well equipped if you want to eat in. We got a taxi into Shrewsbury for dinner one evening and it was only £10 each way- lovely places to eat in Shrewsbury. Highly recommend The Armoury on the river. We sadly only got chance to have drinks in the local pub, but it was a really nice place with friendly clientele and a well kept garden. The gardens and grounds outside the cottage are beautiful and there is a lovely enclosed summerhouse to sit in as well as nice outdoor furniture. Shrewsbury was easy to get to and the house was perfect with lots of character with 2 bathrooms upstairs and a downstairs WC. It was immaculately clean and the mattresses very comfortable. We were given lovely toiletries and a welcome pack with eggs butter milk biscuits and bread! The owners were extremely helpful and friendly too and we enjoyed meeting Willow too. Nora and Simon were great hosts. Finding the house and check in was very easy, and the location is great. Everything that we needed in the kitchen and the bathrooms, and a comfy bed too. We took the opportunity to visit Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, as well as some of the Ironbridge museums. All easily accessible from the Coach House. We also walked up to the local pub for a meal one evening which we would recommend. We were welcomed in the property with a hamper and freshly baked cake. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything that you would need. You could tell the quality of the furnishings. Thick comfortable beds gives a good night's sleep. Beautiful views across the garden and surrounding hills. Spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage with all you would ever need from implements and appliances in the kitchen, to games, books and T.V. in the lounge and towels, linen and complementary toiletries ( including toilet rolls) in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely welcome hamper including a home made cake, and cottage all set in an amazing garden. The New Inn dining pub was only 10 minutes walk away with great food. Nora and Simon ( and Willow the dog) were great hosts and thought of everything. I had an accident while we were out walking and had a lovely email from Nora wishing me well once I got home. Lovely details like the hamper and toiletry packs made the place even more special. It was roomy and very comfortable, providing plenty of space for 4 adults including on the private outdoor patio. The kitchen was one of the best equipped we have had in a cottage stay. The location is great for sites around Shropshire and into Wales. A wonderful cottage that is highly recommended. ##### June H.
