« From the front receptionist to check out the next day, we have never felt more welcome and safe and peaceful and rejuvenated than we did at this lodge. The back outdoor view is breathtaking. The walking path is beautiful, the fire pits at night are a must. The restaurant was AMAZING!! The indoor pool, hot tub and sauna was a chefs kiss. « It is as fine as it can be for being a basement. There were some outside bugs and spiders and spider webs in some places. Wasps in door frames and I got stung on my finger and my cheek. There was confusion on how to enter the property. »

I was so taken by the history of the original 1887 house and the work they have done to restore it. The old Carriage house was also restored and now serves as a garage with the rental unit above it. « Everything was very clean, the food was very good, and the atmosphere was exceptional. The room was spacious as well as the bathroom area. The decorating made you feel right at home. The balcony gave an amazing opportunity to be outside and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the small town. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates simplicity with a splash of class. »

« The room was clean, check in/out was easy. This is not a luxury hotel. It is clean and comfortable, but very utilitarian. The room is very basic, but everything works. I was able to freeze ice packs in the mini-fridge. Communication was all via text, but adequate. Casey's next door for pizza. Other dining is about 10 minutes away in Red Oak.
