"Place is great. Only negative was Vacasa inserting extra steps into reservation process after I had been confirmed by VRBO, and encountering rude Vacasa customer service while calling trying to avoid identity theft. We all deserve kindness and compassion. Finding out I am dealing with a middleman with extra rules is reasonably off-putting after thinking I've closed a deal with VRBO. Cancelling and starting over at that point would have been a hassle. Writing this review is a hassle yet I thought...

"Family was able to gather and enjoy a small wedding on Black Sands Beach. The property was terrific for everyone to be together but also have their own space when needed."

"This was our first visit to northern California. We had a great view of the cove where there were sea lions and seals and enjoyed watching the birds and deer from the porch. We traveled to the redwoods which were not far. We also explored the General Store and enjoyed a meal at the brewery in Shelter Cove. All communication with the homeowner was prompt and courteous. Perfect trip!"

"I was here for the Gimme Shelter Eighteenth Annual Kayak Gathering. The location was perfect. I used the oven to bake two native blackberry pies for the event potluck dinner. I parked my car with kayak on top in the provided parking area. It worked out well. I was able to rinse the salt water from my kayak gear with the host's permission after a successful (awesome) day fishing. I had a wonderful time."

"The property was very clean and nice. The room was nice and well stocked. Neighbors were quiet and respectful. The hot tub didn’t work at our time of stay. Not a big deal, though. Nice couple of restaurants right down the road. Awesome brewery in town. Overall, loved it!!! Definitely would come again!"

"This home is a keeper of a getaway. We have visited this home/area for at least 4 to 5 years, & at least 2x a year now. This was a great find. Appreciate nature and all her surroundings. People are so friendly, fisherman share their catch, Gyppo ale mill is enjoyable. Safe and clean area. Humboldt County has MUCH to offer. ~C~"
