The local little grocery store was very helpful as getting back to town takes a very long time (50 min if you have kids prone to motion sickness((very windy road)). The home was clean and stocked with anything you might need. Even Yahtzee! The host lives next door and is very helpful and kind. Keep in mind this property is time and emotionally intensive ;) to get in and out from town- so come for r&r and beauty right next to the ocean. It’s not the best location if you want to travel to lots of surrounding places. The ocean view is awesome and walking next to the ocean so nice. Keep in mind this part of the ocean is for looking at, not swimming or surfing. Very dangerous. But stunning and breathtakingly powerful. The wildlife was lovely! Birds, seals, sea lion, deer and we even saw a bear! It was awesome. The restaurant options were surprisingly good for such a remote location. We would definitely recommend this place! We had an amazing stay over the weekend. Explored the beach which was a short walk away, hiked some local trails and enjoyed sitting on the deck watching all the wildlife. Within a half hour the plumber was there and issue fixed. Owners are sensitive to interaction with the people in the house. We enjoyed their conversation and agreed that if we were feeling it was too much we would let them know. It wasn’t and we enjoyed them. We will be back. ##### Linda T. She showed up unannounced. It was fun going to the tide pools by the lighthouse and seeing/hearing the sea lions. Close by beautiful redwoods. The road to shelter cove winds a lot! wouldn’t drive down it again in the late afternoon because the shadows made it harder to drive. View from the deck was awesome and the salt air was clean and fresh smelling. Very remote. Load directions to the house in google maps beforehand as we got into town and couldn’t get google maps to work until we drove north a bit in town ##### Kristen H. Séjour de 3 nuits en juin 2021 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Lars J. 6 juin 2021 Points forts : Propreté #### Lost coast trail trip My brother and I backpacked the Lost Coast Trail, and this place is literally steps from the trail head at Black Sands Beach. It was perfect and amazing to be able to get in and take a shower and set on the couch after 4 days backpacking. The owner was great and let us check in early when we made it of the trail a few hours earlier than we planned and even had a big jug of ice water waiting for us. The views were gorgeous and it was so nice to spend another few nights listening to the ocean before we headed home. The downstairs garage left plenty of shaded space to sort out backpacking gear so we didn’t have to haul it into the house and mess things up. Highly recommend this place. ##### Lars J.
