I wish I would learn to not book a non-refundable property on line. This place was terrible for dog urine smell. Most dog friendly hotels have been scrubbed with disinfectant - obviously not this one. A staff member told us that a large dog had been in the room for 13 days and the staff thought they had gotten rid of the smell. He admitted the room probably needed a deep cleaning.
The door had to be pushed hard to close and latch.
The shower control was either full hot or full cold and the employee admitted it needed new ‘O’ rings.
I could not wake the night attendant at 7:30am for a room receipt and the employee said he wasn’t allowed in the office, the ‘lady’ would be in at 0800 hrs and would e-mail a receipt. Still waiting and can’t get hold of anyone at OYO Shelby on the phone.
Bypass this place. I will sleep in my truck next time as this the worst motel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many during my working career.
I throughly enjoyed my stay at the OYO. I was working nights for my assignment and was never woken up during the day, it’s quiet during the day. The hotel was very clean, the front desk staff wonderful, and I’ll be comparing every place I stay to the OYO.

It’s nice quiet and clean staff is nice and it’s pet friendly. Bed was comfy wifi worked well.
This was a great little hotel for an overnight stay! The manager was so lovely and really looked after us. Heaps of parking and close to anything you need. Room was lovely and warm and clean and we felt very safe. Really good value.
OMG, I think this is one of worst hotel. This hotel definitely needs to upgrade and renovate. Carpet in the hallway is old and dirty. No elevator in the hotel. No hair dryer and coffee maker in the hotel room. If you want a cup of coffee or tea, you need to go down to the hotel lobby. I will not stay in this hotel again.
This used to be the Cross Roads Inn. They had a limited breakfast but it was ok milk, cereal, bagels, muffins, jelly, butter and cream cheese.
Now it’s just coffee and tea bags
Our stay was good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The laminate floors really boost the cleanliness of the rooms, but it does amplify the noise of the footsteps from the second floor rooms.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly.. coffee available 24/7 although not in rooms… laundry was a good help, great fun being able to watch trains passing through… if you have difficulty sleeping you may want ear plugs, but for us it was a highlight… Pizza Hut and Subway very close. A lot of the road surfaces in Shelby aren’t great unless you are on the main roads, so the parking area was pretty good in comparison! From previous reviews I thought it wouldn’t be so good but our room was nice and clean.

Plain no-frills hotel. The air conditioner filters were pretty dusty and made the room smell musty n not so pleasant. Luckily we carry room deodorizer spray. For the low cost of the room and the fact we only sleep there, it fit our needs.

Don’t believe any of the good reviews for this place. The hallways were disgusting and stained. The floor creaked with every step you took. The whole place smelt like piss. The walls were paper thin, you could hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The shower was dirty and stained. It leaked and sprayed all over the walls. Save your money and stay anywhere else

Seems like they have a habit of canceling your reservation. Showed up to them saying it was cancelled and no assistance further. After I had to go to a nearby town to find accommodation, I logged in to see that they charged my credit card. After numerous messages which they ignored, I contacted hotels.com. The hotel told me twice on the phone that they would refund me, only to tell hotels.com days later that they would not.
It is a giant scam to stay here (or at least attempt to). You will lose money. They do not care.
I picked Oyo as I had stayed at one previously and enjoyed it but won’t ever again.
