You choose your preferred side of the building but it won't change the view or the noise. Of the 6 hotels I have visited during my trip in China (4-5 stars) this is the last worth it (price, service, amenities, location). In addition it's the only hotel that has charged for a deposit, not unusual a practice, true. The room windows were open a lot of dust was in the room and it was too late to ask for any one to clean the dust on the floor so we thought the next day it will be cleaned but the room hasn’t been mopped off dust until we left which resulted in severe asthma attack since I am allergic to dust . I was using inhalers all the time in the room and was unable to sleep or enjoy my stay in Shanghai due to asthma . Since the receptionist was rude I didn’t want to ask her for any other help such as room cleaning so I asked the concierge Travis , he promised to attend to it but the room wasn’t cleaned off dust . I couldn’t sleep and has been suffering from asthma all throughout my stay . The concierge do nothing about organizing tours , they recommend an illegal marketplace which we were sent by a shuttle car trying to sell us products underground.
